Wonderful World 2024 K Drama Episode 12

The episode opens with Eun-bin overhearing the final conversation her husband has with Soo-hyun before his death and is heartbroken with the way he has spoken with her. After the accident, she tries to talk to Kim Joon to let go of Soo-hyun at the expense of her revealing the truth, but is met with an accident which leaves the truth hidden and Seon-yul devastated.

Seon-yul’s days of trying to get justice for his mother begin and Kim Joon stays by his side, promising to get justice for his mother. However, Seon-yul soon faces the unjust law when the man who caused his mother’s accident is not punished for his crimes. But what he does not know is that this was all planned by Kim Joon who had promised to get him justice.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator is sure that he will get through this as Kim Joon promised to keep him safe and make sure that his child gets surgery. Back in the present, Soo-hyun meets the perpetrator’s wife who reveals that their child died before the surgery which also killed her husband who felt guilty for what he had done.

Soo-hyun realises the foundation that the child was to be getting surgery through belonged to Kim Joon which eventually leads to the fact that Seon-yul already knew that Kim Joon was the real culprit. Elsewhere, Kim Joon continues his campaigning during which he is shown pictures of Seon-yul meeting Soo-hyun.

Back at home, Soo-hyun remembers seeing pictures of Kim Joon with the lawyers at the firm she had visited for Eun-bin’s case. She remembers the box Su-ho had hidden when he last came to the house and looked for it. Upon opening the box, she finds evidence that shows Kim Joon’s connection to the lawyers and judges who were responsible for Gun-woo’s case.

She is shocked by this information as it proves that the case was not judged fairly and rushes to meet Su-ho. She confronts him about the same and realises that Kim Joon must have had something on him. Su-ho denies this and tells her that he didn’t have enough power back then but Soo-hyun doesn’t buy his words.

She shows her disappointment in him and tells him that she will take care of this information herself. Later, Su-ho calls Kim Joon and asks to meet, upon which he shows his wish to join Kim Joon in the upcoming elections. While Kim Joon is sceptical about his willingness to join him, he doesn’t decline the offer.

The next day, Seon-yul gathers all of Kim Joon’s opposing politicians and offers them a chance to bring down Kim Joon. Meanwhile, Su-ho shocks everyone at the news station by showing his support for Kim Joon which later results him in facing his friend’s wrath. Elsewhere, Soo-hyun understands that Kim Joon is at the centre of everything that has happened to her and Seon-yul.

She later meets Seon-yul and asks him to think of every small detail that has to do with his mother’s accident and not miss anything. Seon-yul then tells her of her mother’s last words which were about a tablet, but he found no tablet in her things which has him confused. Seon-yul thinks about Eun-bin’s last words during which she meets Hye-geum who tells her that she will be leaving soon.

Soo-hyun understands that she is doing this because of Kim Joon and advises her to think of her son before living on other’s terms. Meanwhile, Su-ho returns from work and picks up an envelope from another’s letterbox. Upon opening, he finds pictures of a field and reminisces about his son who was always proud of him. As a plan is bubbling inside his heart, he apologises to his son for not standing up earlier.

The next day, Soo-hyun sees Hye-geum’s things being moved and sees her son’s bicycle which reminds her of the day of Gun-woo’s accident when she saw Hye-geum outside her house with her son. She rushes to question Hye-geum but sees her standing in front of her house. Hye-geum tells her that she saw Gun-woo leave the house with a tablet in his hand.

This solves the questions in Soo-hyun’s head as she understands which tablet Eun-bin had been referring to. She rushes to look through Gun-woo’s things to find the tablet but finds nothing. She calls Su-ho to find out about the same but he too denies finding any tablet in Gun-woo’s things.

Su-ho is worried by Soo-hyun’s call and rushes home while Soo-hyun rushes to meet Seon-yul. Elsewhere, Seon-yul recollects how his mother had given him her locket a few days before her accident and listens to the voice recordings on her phone. He suddenly comes across a recording where his parents are talking about hiding something and hears the sound of the locket being closed in the background.

Seon-yul becomes suspicious about the locket when Soo-hyun knocks on his door and tells him that the tablet that his mother was talking about was Gun-woo’s. Seon-yul tells her about the possibility of there being something in his locket and removes the picture inside it. Hiding in the locket is a memory card and upon opening the files on it, they find nothing but the picture of a pawn shop and the details of a tablet.

Soo-hyun is sure that this is Gun-woo’s tablet and rushes to find it with Seon-yul following her. However, Kim Joon’s men are also following them and Seon-yul blocks the way for Soo-hyun. Meanwhile, Yu-ri gets a call from her mother which leaves her surprised but gets worse when she discovers her mother to have forgotten everything that has happened in the past few years.

Go-eun tells her to take the things she has prepared for Gun-woo’s birthday to Soo-hyun’s house which leaves Yu-ri shocked as she rushes to contact Soo-hyun. Unfortunately, Soo-hyun has left her phone at home and Yu-ri has no choice but to keep Go-eun safe herself. Upon returning inside, she finds the restaurant empty and Go-eun nowhere to be seen.

On the other hand, Soo-hyun gets Gun-woo’s tablet and is overcome with grief as she heads home with the device. She opens the tablet and looks through it the pictures of Gun-woo after which she comes across the last video on his tablet. The video is of Gun-woo singing a birthday song for her after which he heads outside and meets with his accident.

Soo-hyun is devastated upon hearing the recording on the device while Seon-yul arrives at her house and overhears the recording wherein Kim Joon’s voice is heard as he confesses that he was the one who caused the accident. The two are shocked while the voice continues to talk to Seon-yul’s father who in turn tells Kim Joon to not worry as he is the one who will take the blame for what has happened.

He asks Kim Joon to make sure that his son gets the necessary treatment as soon as possible and Kim Joon promises to do so, while Soo-hyun and Seon-yul realise that his life was bought in exchange for another young life. While Gun-woo’s silent cries asking for his mother fade in the back, Soo-hyun cries for her child while Seon-yul is shell-shocked.

Wonderful World Episode 12 Review

Another week has come to an end and this was surely filled with sharp turns that surprised us more than all the previous weeks. The excitement of this episode has surely risen as the truth is brought to light one after another, showing us the cruelty of one’s ambitions and the unbothered attitude that makes another commit crimes.

Kim Nam-joo has surely taken the spotlight in this episode while Cha Eun-woo has made his presence very clear on screen with his performance. Seon-yul has barely kept herself alive till now and finding the real reason her son died, along with the real culprit, is surely going to change her once again.

However, she will also need to show more strength as these episodes pointed out that she will soon have to say goodbye to her mother. Meanwhile, Seon-yul is already finding it hard to get over his broken resolve for revenge, and adding to this is now the guilt that his life was given in exchange for Gun-woo’s.

This will surely shake the relationship between Seon-yul and Soo-hyun as the two will now face a harder time when working together, and we might also not find them working together for long. Additionally, Soo-hyun is all ready to go solo in her fight for justice Gun-woo, so seeing this partnership is going to be harder than we think.

Another thing that has us eager is the plan that Su-ho has in mind to bring down Kim Joon which is surely going to be a big shocker for the latter. Altogether, with so many exciting elements and us approaching the finale week, the eagerness is surely not one to be underestimated.
