SBS’s “Lovers of the Red Sky” has released a new behind-the-scenes video!
Based on a novel, “Lovers of the Red Sky” is a historical fantasy romance drama starring Kim Yoo Jung as the Joseon Dynasty’s only female painter Hong Chun Gi, who was born blind but miraculously regains her vision, and Ahn Hyo Seop as the blind astrologer Ha Ram, who is able to read the stars despite losing his sight.
The clip begins with Kwak Si Yang filming a scene where he gets splattered with ink. After adorably failing to grab the thrown paintbrush himself, he diligently rehearses the timing of pretending to catch it. He’s later joined by Kim Yoo Jung and many other cast members as she makes everyone on set burst into laughter during rehearsals.
Ahn Hyo Seop and Gong Myung then rehearse the scene where the latter asks Ha Ram about Hong Chun Gi. As Ha Ram cannot see, Ahn Hyo Seop discusses with the director how he should express his feelings for Hong Chun Gi without being able to observe the situation in front of him.
At night, Gong Myung films a scene with Kim Yoo Jung, and the two practice their lines with funny improvisations. Kim Yoo Jung then randomly begins imitating someone and Gong Myung immediately remarks, “Oh?! It’s similar.” She excitedly responds, “To whom?” He answers, “Aren’t you imitating Ha Ram?” and the two crack up as Kim Yoo Jung asks how he knew.
As the script says their faces gradually grow closer, the pair rehearse different ways to act that out naturally with the help of the director. After making a couple of jokes, Kim Yoo Jung asks, “Do we have to be like this?” Gong Myung adorably responds, “Why… Do it with me too…” and she immediately gives in.
