SBS’s “Lovers of the Red Sky” revealed a behind-the-scenes video of the kiss scene between Ahn Hyo Seop and Kim Yoo Jung!
Ahn Hyo Seop and director coordinate the timing of his actions for the scene, and once the cameras start rolling, Ahn Hyo Seop and Kim Yoo Jung get into character and deliver their lines. When they lean in for the kiss, they lose their balance due to the incline of the surface they’re sitting on. Ahn Hyo Seop says, “Ah, it’s too far away,” as he falls onto the ground, and Kim Yoo Jung tells him to be careful.
They try the kiss again, but Ahn Hyo Seop slowly slides down the slope, which makes Kim Yoo Jung laugh and ask where he’s going.
They decide to sit on sandbags, which makes it easier for the actors to sit on the slanted surface. Finally, they succeed in filming the emotional kiss scene.
Next, Ahn Hyo Seop is tricked into thinking he’s doing an interview, when in reality the actors are preparing a surprise birthday party for him. While he answers the interview question, Kim Yoo Jung slowly approaches from the back with a cake. She starts singing happy birthday as soon as he finishes his answer, and Ahn Hyo Seop turns around in surprise. Ahn Hyo Seop reveals it’s his first time receiving a birthday cake on set, and they take a photo together in celebration.
Kim Yoo Jung and Ahn Hyo Seop are back to filming the kiss scene, this time from a different angle. Ahn Hyo Seop’s hat hits Kim Yoo Jung on the forehead on the first try, and the beaded string on the hat gets in the way on the second try. The director gives them more detailed instructions, and they finally complete the kiss scene.
The video cuts to the actors filming the scene of the painting contest and the auction that follows. Ha Ram (Ahn Hyo Seop) and Prince Yangmyeong (Gong Myung) engage in a bidding war for Hong Chun Gi’s (Kim Yoo Jung’s) painting, where Gong Myung makes hilariously excessive reactions to Ha Ram’s bids. Ha Ram eventually makes the higher bid and wins Hong Chun Gi’s painting.
