“The Red Sleeve,” “Snowdrop,” And More See Ups And Downs In Ratings Over Christmas Holidays

Both MBC’s “The Red Sleeve” and JTBC’s “Snowdrop” adjusted their broadcast schedules for Christmas.

“The Red Sleeve” aired two episodes on December 25, while “Snowdrop” decided to air three episodes from December 24 to 26.

The December 24 episode of “The Red Sleeve” recorded average nationwide viewership ratings of 12.8 percent, a slight drop from the previous episode‘s personal best of 13.3 percent. On December 25, “The Red Sleeve” rose back up to 13.0 percent with episode 13, and then smashed its own personal best in episode 14 with ratings of 14.3 percent.

The December 24 episode of “Snowdrop” recorded ratings of 1.853 percent, a sharp drop from last episode’s ratings of 3.898 percent. The December 25 episode continued to drop with ratings of 1.689 percent, a new personal low for the drama.

Other dramas aired according to their normal schedules on Friday and Saturday.

On SBS, the December 24 episode of “Now We Are Breaking Up” recorded ratings of 5.7 percent, a drop from last episode‘s 6.5 percent. The December 25 episode continued its drop with 4.9 percent, a new personal low for the drama.

tvN’s Friday-Saturday drama “Bad and Crazy” recorded ratings of 3.747 percent for the December 24 episode and ratings of 3.134 percent for the December 25 episode. “Bulgasal,” which also airs on tvN but on Saturday and Sunday, recorded ratings of 4.775 percent for December 25.

On TV Chosun, “Uncle” recorded ratings of 5.562 percent on December 25.

On December 25, KBS’s weekend drama “Young Lady and Gentleman” recorded ratings of 32.9 percent, a slight drop from last week’s personal best of 34.5 percent. KBS’s epic historical drama, “The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won,” recorded ratings of 8.7 percent on the same day, a slight drop from last week as well.

Airing live on December 25 were the 2021 KBS Entertainment Awards and the 2021 SBS Gayo Daejeon. The 2021 KBS Entertainment Awards recorded nationwide ratings of 7.3 percent in the first half and 5.7 percent in the second half. The 2021 SBS Gayo Daejeon recorded ratings of 2.5 percent in the first half and 1.7 percent in the second half.
