In this episode, we enter a new scene. In-ah walks into his father’s room as the latter enjoys a glass of wine. In-ah confronts him initially regarding Tae-oh but the Chairman pins a new accusation on him – meeting Sa-jin and trying to break Kangoh Group to pieces. In-ah tries to give him an excuse but the Chairman is quick to dismiss him.
Instead, he announces to In-ah that he will be terminated from his position in the morning and later that day, a press release regarding his dismissal from the family will also be released. Shocked at the drastic steps, In-ah bursts out on him but the Chairman confronts him for the murder of Kang In-ju. He tells him that no matter what, blood is thicker than water but the upbringing is where it makes the difference. He tells him to leave the place and go back to live as Baek In-ah, as that is his punishment for his crimes.
Angered at the quick dismissal, he tries to stop the Chairman but the latter’s heart condition acts up and instead of helping him – he pushes him further into the bathtub. Once the Chairman goes unconscious, he walks away while Tae-oh walks and becomes perplexed at the Chairman not being in the room.
We move to the present as the Kangoh family gathers at the hospital. Thanks to Hui-ju’s quick actions, they were able to save him but since he didn’t take his medicine at the golden hour, they must wait for him to wake up. In-ah finds out that his father is still alive and he begins sweating bullets. While in the hospital, In-ah realises why he couldn’t find Tae-oh in the first place – a secret room in his office. He immediately goes to his office and finds the room but alas, Tae-oh is nowhere to be found.
Tae-oh finds Prosecutor Ha Myung-jin, who is less than happy to see him. Tae-oh tells him that he isn’t the culprit and the real culprit has been recorded in Bo-na’s phone. Tired of his shenanigans, he arrests Tae-oh and cuffs him to his car. Determined to make his point, he brings Myung-jin to his side who finds the phone as well as the videos. He shows them to Tae-oh who sees that the murderer is Mo Gi-jun but there is another person at the scene – In-ah.
Shocked at his suspicions coming true, he gives the phone to Myung-jin and asks him to make his decision. While Myung-jin does not know that the actual person behind it is In-ah, they arrest Mo Gi-jun to find the true culprit. Myung-jin notices In-ah staring at them and gets an idea. On the other hand, Tae-oh enters a police station and gives himself up to continue his plan.
Kang Sung-ju and his mother glance over the news and become elated as they know that they have the major players out of the ring with only one person left – In-ah. They also decided to keep Tae-oh in the company for their use but under Sung-ju.
Myung-jin spends hours trying to break Mo Gi-jun but he makes it seem that he pre-meditated the murders as he was tired of the treatment he got from In-ju. Just as Myung-jin could see Gi-jun breaking his cover, the latter quickly came back to his rehearsed answers – frustrating Myung-jin to no end.
In-ah goes back to Sa-jin and confronts him for going back to his father. Sa-jin does not hold back and tells him that no matter what, it is better to work with the owner of Kangoh Group than his ‘bastard’ son. Irked by the label, he shakes it off and tells him that he will become the owner and give him what he needs. But Sa-jin is convinced that as long as the Chairman is alive, In-ah has no chance of being the owner.
Back at the jail, Tae-oh meets his old foe-turned-friend who is leaving the place the next day. They have a drink and Tae-oh confesses that he had initially created a paper company called Gold H Investment to help In-ah but now he is going to use it against him. Using the help of his new friend, Hye-won and the hacker, they buy multiple shares in the market and become number one in the market overnight.
With the help of the Chairman’s trusted lawyer, Tae-oh is found not guilty of all his crimes and he is let go from jail. With new determination in place, Tae-oh beelines for revenge. On the other hand, the Kangoh family are shocked at the market stats as Kangoh is taken over by the new company Gold H Investment. In-ah falls for Tae-oh’s trick hook, line and sinker and asks his trusted employee to search for the company.
The episode comes to an end as a frustrated In-ah comes into the hospital room of his father. Convinced that he will be thrown out if his father wakes up, In-ah justifies his reason to try and murder the Chairman again. But his plan is foiled as he is confronted by his friend-turned-enemy, Tae-oh.
It seems each episode will leave us wanting for more! With Tae-oh gearing up to take revenge on his best friend-turned-foe, In-ah, we are curious to see how the two will come to a stop to the constant back-and-forth. Even in this episode, In-ah seems to be going crazier as he feels his dream being taken away. He is using others to pad his fall, like most rich people.
Tae-oh, on the other hand, feels a tug at his heartstrings as he has to take revenge on the one person that he cares about the most. But the betrayal hurt worse than he expected, which is why the last episodes are going to be extremely twisted and we hope to see them interact more in them as well! Even without any interaction in the last two episodes, it is obvious that Lee Jae-wook and Lee Jun-young share a great relationship on and off-screen as they bring those emotions on-screen. While Hong Su-zu continues to remain two-dimensional as Na Hye-won, other characters have shined in the episode.
One is Mo Gi-jun, played by Kwon Hyuk. From the beginning, he has had a demure and silent personality. But with each assault or shocking situation with him involved, Gi-jun seems to be gaining more confidence. It got to the point where he could fearlessly answer the prosecutor’s questions when in reality, he is scared of the outcome.
