The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has announced its latest batch of official album certifications!
According to the RIAJ’s certification thresholds, albums are certified gold at 100,000 units shipped, platinum at 250,000, and million at 1,000,000.
After earning a platinum certification last month for their first Japanese studio album “THE SOUND,” Stray Kids has shown off their consistent growth in Japan by going double platinum this month. With over 500,000 units shipped, “THE SOUND” is now Stray Kids’ first double platinum RIAJ certification.
Among the latest certifications was also BTS’s Jimin’s “FACE,” which has gone platinum for over 250,000 units shipped. In addition to being Jimin’s first solo platinum certification, this makes him the first and only Korean solo artist to earn an RIAJ platinum certification this year with a Western (foreign language) album.
Just two weeks after TREASURE released their latest Japanese single “Here I Stand,” the song has gone platinum with over 250,000 copies sold, marking their first single to reach this milestone.
Earning a new gold RIAJ certification was Kep1er with “Fly-By!,” their latest Japanese single. This is Kep1er’s second time achieving this milestone of surpassing 100,000 units shipped.
Congratulations to Stray Kids, BTS’s Jimin, TREASURE, and Kep1er!
