Marry My Husband Episode 14 starts with Ji-won bringing Ji-hyuk home from the hospital and fussing over him. He apologises for not being honest from the start. Ji-won then tells him that her fate has gone to Joo-ran instead. She needs to find a way to shift it to Min-hwan and Su-min.
Joo-ran herself gets into her husband’s car to snoop on him. She then sees him and her friend sneak off somewhere once again. After they leave, she takes the car’s dashcam’s memory card.
Seok-jun tells Ji-hyuk that he should have kept him in the loop regarding everything with Min-hwan and Su-min. Ji-hyuk says he wasn’t sure if he could trust Seok-jun and gives him a hug. They decide to look for Man-sik and Hui-suk.
Later, Ji-hyuk and Ji-won are spending time together. Ji-hyuk pretends to be in pain in order to get closer to Ji-won. He asks her to stay the night and they get cozy. In the morning, she isn’t next to him but he’s relieved to find her in the living room.
At work, Gyeong-uk is making a fuss again when, to everyone’s delight, Joo-ran arrives. Min-hwan calls Yoo-ra on seeing Ji-won at work, but she tells him to stay patient. Her guard then tells her he’s found Man-sik and Hui-suk. She calls them and suggests they move to China for a while.
Joo-ran tells Ji-won and Hui-yeon that she reported her husband for adultery (this was before the law was annulled). She says she’s planned for the police to catch the couple at her home, red-handed. Ji-won goes along and when she sees the broken door lock and the red high heels in the hallway, she recognises them as signs of her own fate. The two women, along with two policemen, confront the couple. But the friend claims to have come over to just give him some food. Joo-ran’s husband makes everyone leave so he can speak with Joo-ran.
Ji-won recognises all the signs of her own murder. So before Joo-ran’s husband can do it, she grabs a golf club and smashes the glass center table to pieces. He shouts at Ji-won but Joo-ran stands up for both of them. Joo-ran’s husband pushes Joo-ran and she falls, saved only because Ji-won had already broken the glass table.
Ji-won and Joo-ran file a report at the police station and Ji-won counsels Joo-ran to never meet her husband alone. She finds Ji-won’s behaviour odd but Ji-won convinces her to do as she says. Seok-jun and Ji-hyuk arrive as well and the former agrees to work as Joo-ran’s lawyer.
Later on, Ji-won tells Ji-hyuk about the similarities between her fate and Joo-ran’s near miss. She surmises that she has to seduce Min-hwan for her fate to go to Su-min. If she doesn’t, Joo-ran will die. Ji-hyuk reluctantly agrees to help.
The first thing Ji-won does is buy those shiny red heels. Min-hwan comes to work to see a staged fight in between Ji-won and Ji-hyuk. They make it look as if Ji-won took money to break up with Ji-hyuk.
Later, Ji-won speaks with Min-hwan and tells him things have changed. She asks him out for a drink and brags about the money the chairman gave her eighty billion Won to break up with Ji-hyuk. Su-min calls Min-hwan while they’re drinking and he ignores it, Ji-won’s plan is already working! Ji-won pretends to get nostalgic about the past with Min-hwan. She then brings up the truck accident and reveals she knows Su-min’s father was driving it.
But Su-min has her own cards to play. She meets with Manager Gyeong-uk, who warns her about old feelings coming back in between Min-hwan and Ji-won. At home, Gyeong-uk’s words ring in Su-min’s head.
At the restaurant, Ji-won pretends that she believes only Su-min tried to kill her. She also pretends to be scared because Ji-hyuk has people following her. Min-hwan takes the bait. As they walk back, Min-hwan figures he’ll get more money if he seduces Ji-won. Ji-won herself suggests he breaks up with Su-min for his own safety. He gives her a hug and says he’ll call her.
Ji-hyuk’s car is waiting nearby and Ji-won goes to him once Min-hwan leaves. He gives her a hug too.
Min-hwan gets a call from Yoo-ra and tells her his plan. He’ll be with Ji-won and she’ll get back with Ji-hyuk. But Yoo-ra is smarter than him and knows Ji-won could be playing him. She tells her head of security to kill Man-sik and Hui-suk. At home, Min-hwan tells Su-min they should get divorced. But she knows he’s thinking of getting back with Ji-won.
Meanwhile, Eun-ho comes to work to find his boss has closed the restaurant. Instead, Yoo-ra has bought it. She offers him the restaurant if he does something for her.
Afterwards, Eun-ho meets Hui-yeon for a drink. He says he’s unemployed now and seems to be looking for comfort. Just then, Hui-yeon realises Eun-ho can be their replacement chef for their meal kit project. She gets him to work the next day. He tells Ji-won about Yoo-ra and Ji-won apologises for everything. She conveys the same to Ji-hyuk, who is currently seated across Yoo-ra’s security head. He offers him a choice — either help Ji-hyuk or go down with Yoo-ra.
Min-hwan then calls Ji-won and asks her to go out with him for dinner. Just then, Ji-hyuk calls and says that Min-hwan already has a woman. It’s Yoo-ra, who has currently received a pair of red heels and a tin of candy, courtesy of Ji-hyuk. The same elements that were present during Ji-won’s murder. Ji-won realises she doesn’t need to be Min-hwan’s Other Woman and gives him a good talking-to on the phone.
Elsewhere, Yoo-ra and her security guy set up Man-sik and Hui-suk’s murder. They put the pair inside a car, with suicide notes, and then fill it with toxic fumes. Back home, Su-min texts Min-hwan, agreeing to get a divorce. She then calls Yoo-ra.
At the end of her work day, Ji-won is happy with how everything is going. She then gets a blank call that scares her. The person calls again but it turns out to be Ji-hyuk, who says he’ll be there in 15 minutes. But somebody is moving about the empty office behind Ji-won. Suddenly, the lights go out and Min-hwan arrives. He’s angry about the way she spoke to him and is seeking revenge.
She hides but he finds her. He asks her why she treated him like that and she reveals she knew he tried to kill her. He loses his cool and puts his hands around her throat. Just as she closes her eyes, Ji-hyuk enters and pushes Min-hwan off. He tries to wake Ji-won up but she doesn’t at the end of Marry My Husband Episode 14.
Marry My Husband Episode 14 does feel like it’s getting things back on track again. Yoo-ra’s involvement in the show is also clearer. She has to be the Other Woman so that Ji-won doesn’t need to. However short it was though, watching Ji-won seduce Min-hwan was a delight and would have been a joy to watch even if it went on longer. On the other hand, Ji-won and Ji-hyuk make a lovely couple and it is nice to watch them fight for each other.
The end of the episode puts a wrench into things again, with Ji-won suffering a near-death experience. So far, the rules of fate have been clear. We know why and how Ji-won needs to send her fate to Su-min. I only hope the story doesn’t convolute things too much to mess with that logic.
