It’s official: BTS is releasing a book of their very own this summer!
For the past several days, rumors have run rampant about the possibility of either BTS or Taylor Swift publishing a new book, after U.S. booksellers took notice of a mystery title with a July 9 release date and an initial print run of 1 million copies. All the speculation drove the book up bestseller lists at both Amazon and Barnes & Noble, even without any confirmation of its author or title.
However, on May 11 local time, the book’s U.S. publisher Flatiron Books finally set the rumors to rest with an official announcement: BTS is, in fact, the mystery author behind the upcoming book that has generated so much buzz and speculation.
Together with journalist Kang Myeongseok, BTS has written an oral history of the group entitled “Beyond The Story: 10-Year Record of BTS,” and it will be released in both South Korea and the United States on July 9 (the birthday of BTS’s fandom, ARMY).
According to the New York Times, the U.S. edition of the book will be 544 pages and include exclusive photographs. The English translation is said to have been led by Anton Hur, in collaboration with Clare Richards and Slin Jung.
