ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo has officially joined Kim Nam Joo in the new thriller drama “Wonderful World” (literal title)!
On June 1, Cha Eun Woo’s agency Fantagio shared, “Cha Eun Woo is confirmed to appear in the drama ‘Wonderful World.’ He will show you a new side of him that he has never shown before as Kwon Sun Yool, a medical student that carries a mysterious secret. We ask for your interest and support.”
“Wonderful World” is an emotional thriller about Eun Soo Hyun, a woman who seeks revenge after the tragic loss of her son. When the culprit manages to evade punishment through the legal system, she decides to pursue justice on her own. The drama will be helmed by Lee Seung Young, the director of “Tracer,” “Voice 2,” and “The Missing.”
Kim Nam Joo was previously confirmed to star as Eun Soo Hyun, a successful and famous psychology professor and writer who falls into hopeless despair after losing her young son. Cha Eun Woo’s former co-star in the hit drama “True Beauty,” Im Se Mi is also currently in talks to join.
Cha Eun Woo will take on the role of Kwon Sun Yool, someone who grows up in a wealthy family but ends up losing his parents due to a series of events. After dropping out of medical school, Kwon Sun Yool leads a rough life until he unexpectedly winds up entangled with Eun Soo Hyun and the two begin to heal each other’s wounds.
The production team remarked, “Viewers will be able to see a different and rough charm of Cha Eun Woo through the character Kwon Sun Yool, who will keep you guessing about what he hides behind his good-natured looks. Please look forward to the powerful synergy that Kim Nam Joo and Cha Eun Woo will show.”
“Wonderful World” is expected to air in the first half of 2024. Stay tuned!
