Get ready for “Yumi’s Cells: The Movie”!
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, “Yumi’s Cells” tells the story of an ordinary office worker named Yumi—from the point of view of the many brain cells in her head controlling her every thought, feeling, and action. The television adaptation, TVING’s “Yumi’s Cells” starring Kim Go Eun, Ahn Bo Hyun, and GOT7‘s Jinyoung, enjoyed significant popularity and acclaim during its two-season run from 2021 to 2022.
Having captivated audiences and remained a bestseller for nine years, “Yumi’s Cells” is now set to make its cinematic debut with “Yumi’s Cells: The Movie.” This animated film follows Yumi’s cells ensemble on a mission to restore her happiness amidst the chaos caused by her dominant “Love Cell” and “Anxious Cell.” Directed by Kim Da Hee, who oversaw the animation for the drama, the film promises to showcase the endearing charm of the 3D cell characters.
The newly released teaser poster poster showcases the cells gathering in the theater seats. From the “Hungry Cell” munching on popcorn, the “Writer Cell” jotting down notes with an excited expression, the “Anxious Cell” nervously biting its nails, the “Love Cell” beaming with joy, to the “Emotional Cell” moved to tears, each cell exudes its distinct personality, igniting anticipation as viewers look forward to seeing their favorite cells come to life on the big screen. Moreover, the caption, “This time, apparently we’re the protagonists!” suggests that the mischievous cells are about to embark on a new adventure of their own.
“Yumi’s Cells: The Movie” is slated to premiere in theaters on April 3.
