ENA’s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama “Day of Kidnapping” (literal title) has released photos from its script reading!
Based on a novel of the same name, “Day of Kidnapping” is a black comedy about a special collaboration between a sloppy kidnapper and an 11-year-old genius girl.
The script reading was attended by director Park Yoo Young and writer Kim Je Young as well as actors Yoon Kye Sang, Yoo Na, Kim Shin Rok, Park Sung Hoon, Kim Sang Ho, Seo Jae Hee, and Kang Young Seok. The actors who perfectly immersed into their characters heated up the script reading site with their meticulous skills.
Yoon Kye Sang will take on the role of Kim Myung Joon, a first-time kidnapper who abducts an 11-year-old girl to raise money for his daughter’s hospital fees. Due to an incident he accidentally gets himself involved in, Kim Myung Joon is suddenly hunted down as a murder suspect.
Yoo Na of “Pachinko” will play the genius girl Choi Ro Hee who loses her memory. She has a cynical and exceptional mind despite her young age, and she will overcome various crises while forming a strange bond with Kim Myung Joon.
Kim Shin Rok will portray Kim Myung Joon’s ex-wife Seo Hye Eun who suddenly left Kim Myung Joon three years ago. She is the very person who proposes that Kim Myung Joon abducts Choi Ro Hee after returning to his side.
“The Glory” actor Park Sung Hoon will play the role of detective Park Sang Yoon who is chasing after Kim Myung Joon. Having quick judgement and cold analytical skills, Park Sang Yoon gets caught up with Kim Myung Joon while chasing after an abduction case. However, as he gets closer to the truth, he faces an unexpected secret.
Furthermore, Kim Sang Ho will play security company employee Park Chul Won, Seo Jae Hee will play neurosurgeon Mo Eun Sun, and Kang Young Seok will play fund manager Jayden.
The production team remarked, “The acting and synergy of the actors were amazing. Viewers can look forward to an emotional “buddy” thriller that is on another level. We’re sure that viewers will have no choice but to fall in love with ‘Day of Kidnapping’ through its unique elements of laughter, emotion, and a storyline that will stimulate their reasoning power.”
