Yoo Seung Ho has shared his thoughts on his upcoming KBS drama “Moonshine”!
“Moonshine” is a new drama set in the Joseon era, during the time when prohibition laws were at their strongest. The series will tell the love story of Kang Ro Seo, a struggling aristocrat who starts illegally making alcohol in order to support her family (played by Hyeri), and Joseon’s greatest inspector Nam Young, who is known for living a very principled life (played by Yoo Seung Ho).
As a strict inspector who does everything by the book, Nam Young is serious about cracking down on illegal alcohol peddling—leading to a thrilling chase between him and the law-breaking Kang Ro Seo.
Yoo Seung Ho introduced “Moonshine” by saying, “It’s a drama about prohibition and four people. It’s easy to watch, but I think it’ll be even more fun if you watch it while searching for the hidden message that the drama wants to convey.”
The actor went on to remark, “It’s my first historical drama in a long time, since ‘Ruler: Master of the Mask.’ I’ve done a lot of historical dramas, but it was still as nerve-racking as always.”
However, he added, “Thanks to Lee Hyeri, the filming set was a lot of fun.”
Describing Nam Young and Ro Seo’s unique romance, Yoo Seung Ho explained, “After meeting Ro Seo, Nam Young discovers the emotion of love and realizes he was wrong to believe that his way of thinking was the only right way.”
The actor also couldn’t say enough good things about his co-star Hyeri, both in terms of her acting skills and her real-life personality.
“Lee Hyeri is the essence of Ro Seo herself,” he enthused. “Her acting in our romantic and emotional scenes was flawless.”
Yoo Seung Ho also shared, “Both when we were acting and when we were taking breaks, I was able to gain strength thanks to Lee Hyeri’s cheerful energy.”
Finally, Yoo Seung Ho remarked, “I hope that ‘Moonshine’ will be remembered as a drama that felt like meeting up for drinks with your close friends. Even after time passes, you remember it as a happy memory. I hope our drama can become that kind of a memory.”
“Moonshine” will premiere on December 20 at 9:30 p.m. KST.
