The upcoming musical adaptation of “Dream High” has dropped profile posters of its cast!
Earlier this year, production company Art One Company announced that KBS2’s 2011 drama “Dream High” would be adapted into a show musical combining traditional musicals and dance. The original drama is set at a competitive arts high school that follows the story of six students trying to achieve love and their dreams in the music industry. The incredibly star-studded cast included Kim Soo Hyun, Suzy, IU, 2PM’s Taecyeon and Wooyoung, T-ara’s Ham Eun Jung, Park Jin Young, Lee Yoon Ji, Uhm Ki Joon, Bae Yong Joon, and more.
The new profile posters feature all 37 cast members of “Dream High” minus their mega choreography team, teasing the musical’s upcoming story that follows the arts students after they graduate high school. Eum Moon Suk, WINNER’s Lee Seung Hoon, and SF9’s Taeyang will all take on the role of Song Sam Dong (previously played by Kim Soo Hyun), who dreams of making his debut as a singer.
Jason (previously played by Wooyoung) will be played by Teen Top’s Niel, ASTRO’s JinJin, and rapper Gree, while Jin Gook (previously played by Taecyeon) will be portrayed by INFINITE’s Dongwoo, Chu Yeon Sung, and Jeon Hwi.
Playing the students’ former teacher Kang Oh Hyuk are Oh Jong Hyuk, Lee Hyun, and Jung Dong Hwa, while Yoon Baek Hee is portrayed by KARA’s Park Gyuri, Lee Jae Yi, and Pyo Ba Ha. The art school’s principal will be played by Go Chang Suk, Shim Jae Hyun, and Sung Yeol Seok.
The drama’s additional cast members include Ra Jun, Tae Hang Ho, Kim Dong Hyun, Shim Hyun Seo, Ahn So Myung, Kim Tae Hee, Lee Doo Yeon, Kwon Joon Ha, Lee Shi Mok, Choi Ho Geun, Im Seo Won, Park Shin Yoo, Jung Eun Jung, ONEWE’s Dongmyeong, Kang Kwon Seok, Kim Bo Young, Choi Seul Gi, Im Seo Rin, Peter, and more.
Performances of the upcoming “Dream High” musical will begin on May 13 at the Kwanglim Arts Center BBCH Hall.
