“Why Her?” And “Alchemy Of Souls” Remain No. 1 As “Cleaning Up” And “Becoming Witch” Ratings Fall To All-Time Lows

SBS’s “Why Her?” is heading into the final week of its run on a rise in viewership ratings!

On July 16, the mystery romance drama—which has just two episodes left to go—climbed to an average nationwide rating of 7.8 percent, according to Nielsen Korea. Once again, “Why Her?” not only took first place in its time slot across all channels, but also remained the most-watched miniseries to air on Saturday.

Additionally, “Why Her?” continued its reign as the most-watched show in its time slot among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it scored an average rating of 3.3 percent.

“Doctor Lawyer,” which airs in the same time slot as “Why Her?”, dipped slightly to an average nationwide rating of 6.2 percent ahead of its own final week.

Meanwhile, after returning to its all-time high in viewership with its previous episode last week, tvN’s “Alchemy of Souls” saw a decline in its ratings for its latest episode. However, the fantasy romance drama still managed to defend its position at first place in its time slot across all cable channels with an average nationwide rating of 5.2 percent.

“Alchemy of Souls” also remained first place in its time slot across all channels—including public broadcast networks—among viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it scored a nationwide average of 3.4 percent.

Two dramas fell to new all-time lows last night: TV Chosun’s “Becoming Witch” dropped to an average nationwide rating of 2.0 percent, while JTBC’s “Cleaning Up” dipped to a nationwide average of 1.973 percent.

Finally, KBS 2TV’s “It’s Beautiful Now” remained the most-watched program to air on any channel on Saturday with an average nationwide rating of 21.6 percent.
