Old wounds will resurface on the next episode of KBS 2TV’s “School 2021.”

“School 2021,” the long-awaited eighth installment in KBS’s popular “School” drama series, tells the story of high school students struggling with an uncertain future and choosing to follow their dreams instead of just preparing for college entrance exams.

WEi’s Kim Yo Han stars in the drama as Gong Ki Joon, a former Taekwondo athlete who was forced to give up on his dream, while Cho Yi Hyun plays his first love Jin Ji Won, who is determined to achieve her dream of becoming a carpenter. Chu Young Woo plays Jung Young Joo, a mysterious transfer student with a past connection to Gong Ki Joon, and Hwang Bo Reum Byeol plays Kang Seo Young, a high-achieving student who is on track to get into one of Korea’s top universities.

Jung Young Joo was deeply filled with resentment towards Gong Ki Joon, who had been indifferent about the death of their close friend. The two coincidentally reunited at Nulji Science and Technology High School, where they would grow rigid with tension every time they crossed paths. In addition, when Gong Ki Joon wanted to join a new project club, Jung Young Joo quipped, “But if you get bored, you’re going to quit this, too.”

Newly released stills capture a fierce confrontation between Gong Ki Joon and Jung Young Joo. Jung Young Joo, who was sitting on the sandy beach, shoots Gong Ki Joon, who appeared out of nowhere, a sharp glare. Despite Jung Young Joo’s unwelcoming stance, Gong Ki Joon reveals his innermost thoughts without wavering.

Then in one photo, Jung Young Joo grabs Gong Ki Joon’s shirt. Gong Ki Joon, who always approached Jung Young Joo first despite his cold reaction, treats him with a different attitude than before. He firmly stares at Jung Young Joo without backing down, and Jung Young Joo looks contemptuous at his shameless attitude. Will these two be able to wash away their old wounds?

The producers of “School 2021” teased, “In today’s episode, Gong Ki Joon and Jung Young Joo, who bumped into each other several times in a precarious atmosphere, will face the wounds of their past. Please focus on the special friendship of these two characters, who went from being best friends to enemies, to see if they will be able to pour out the bitterness in their hearts and understand each other.”

Episode 8 of “School 2021” will air on December 16 at 9:30 p.m. KST.
