JTBC has shared a glimpse of Ahn Eun Jin, Kang Ye Won, and Red Velvet’s Joy’s friendship in their upcoming drama “The One and Only”!

“The One and Only” is an emotional romance drama about three terminally ill women who meet at a hospice. They decide that before they die, they want to take down one bad guy before they go – but in their attempt to take down just one person, they end up meeting the most valuable person of their lives. Ahn Eun Jin stars as Pyo In Sook, a woman recently diagnosed with a terminal illness. She joins Sung Mi Do (Joy) and Kang Se Yeon (Kang Ye Won) on a journey of realizing the meaning of life.

The drama recently released new stills that depict Pyo In Sook, Sung Mi Do, and Kang Se Yeon’s life at the hospice Morning Light. Sister Magdalene (played by Lee Soo Mi) opened Morning Light ten years ago. When people think of the word “hospice,” they usually imagine ill patients lying in bed. However, Morning Light is different because it’s mostly filled with patients who are able to carry out their daily lives. They don’t wear hospital gowns either, and they don’t lose their laughter, despite the fact that they are at death’s doorstep. To sum it up, Morning Light is “a place to live, not a place to wait for death.”

Pyo In Sook, Sung Mi Do, and Kang Se Yeon will find true life at Morning Light. They don’t start off with a bang, and the process isn’t smooth either. However, as time passes by, the three people with vastly different personalities will become attached to each other. One photo shows Pyo In Sook and Sung Mi Do with sullen expressions that clearly state they don’t want to be here. In the second photo, Sung Mi Do’s expression is bright and warm, and Kang Se Yeon displays a calm smile on her face.

“The One and Only” premieres on December 20 at 11 p.m. KST.
