Mnet has revealed that the second season of “I-LAND” will be a collaboration with longtime YG Entertainment producer Teddy and his agency THEBLACKLABEL!
The first season of Mnet’s survival show “I-LAND,” which gave rise to the boy group ENHYPEN in 2020, was produced in collaboration with HYBE and its founder Bang Si Hyuk. Accordingly, ENHYPEN’s agency BELIFT LAB is a joint venture between Mnet’s parent company CJ ENM and HYBE.
In the same vein, “I-LAND 2″—the long-awaited female version of “I-LAND”—was widely expected to create BELIFT LAB’s first girl group. However, earlier this year, BELIFT LAB unexpectedly launched a new survival show called “R U Next?” on JTBC that will determine the lineup of its new girl group instead.
On July 24, Mnet officially announced that “I-LAND 2” would mark a collaboration with Teddy and his YG Entertainment subsidiary THEBLACKLABEL. However, the brand-new girl group produced by the upcoming show will promote under CJ ENM’s label WAKEONE.
Online applications for “I-LAND 2” will be open from July 10 to August 6 KST, and any girl born before January 1, 2011 and able to travel internationally is eligible to apply.
