On the latest episode of “The King of Mask Singer,” the identity of “Sikhye” was revealed!
During the September 29 broadcast of the MBC singing competition, four contestants advanced to the next round in their quest to challenge the reigning champion for the throne.
In the second match-up of Round 2, Sikhye charmed with a beautiful cover of Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon’s “I Love You” (from the soundtrack of the 2010 drama “Athena: Goddess of War”).
Although Sikhye earned praise from the celebrity panelists for her performance, she ultimately lost the round to her opponent.
When she took off her mask to unveil her identity, Sikhye turned out to be Kep1er’s main vocalist Chaehyun, who won first place on Mnet’s “Girls Planet 999”—the survival show through which the group was formed—back in 2021.
When asked about her goals for the future, Chaehyun confessed, “I was really nervous today. Since I’m always together with my fellow [Kep1er] members, I was never that nervous before, but I was so, so nervous today. My goal is to become a vocalist that can more fully enjoy performing on this kind of stage.”
