KBS has released a new preview of their upcoming drama “School 2021”!
The eighth installment in KBS’s long-running “School” series, “School 2021” is about high school students who choose to follow their own dreams instead of just preparing for college entrance exams. The coming-of-age tale will follow the growth, friendships, and romances of 18-year-olds who are facing uncertain futures.
The teaser begins with Gong Ki Joon (Kim Yo Han) collapsed on the floor during a Taekwondo match and wondering, “I’ve quit Taekwondo. Now what do I do?” He represents the type of youth who spent all his life chasing after a single dream and now has to find a new purpose in life. Jin Ji Won (Cho Yi Hyun), on the other hand, knows what exactly what she wants to do, declaring confidently, “Ever since I was in elementary school, I’ve wanted to be a carpenter. That’s never changed.”
Gong Ki Joon and Jin Ji Won keep bumping into each other in awkward situations, and the other students gossip about whether they’re lovers or enemies. But Gong Ki Joon does run into one enemy, Jung Young Joo (Chu Young Woo), who warns him, “Don’t talk to me. Because I don’t want to die,” hinting at dark secrets in their shared past.
Jung Young Joo shows his softer side when he’s with Jin Ji Won, giving her a warm smile. On the other hand, Kang Seo Young (Hwang Bo Reum Byeol) can’t take her eyes off him, hinting at a tangled love square between the students. Later, she declares to someone, “Let’s date.” Jin Ji Won steals looks at Gong Ki Joon and wonders, “He used to be so small,” and says of Jung Young Joo, “He doesn’t seem like a bad person.”
