tvN has shared a glimpse at the first script reading for “Military Prosecutor Doberman” (literal title)!
“Military Prosecutor Doberman” is about a man named Do Bae Man (Ahn Bo Hyun), a military prosecutor who chose the job for money. After meeting Cha Woo In (Jo Bo Ah), a military prosecutor who chose the job for revenge, the two fight evil in the military to become true prosecutors.
Present at the recent script reading were director Jin Chang Gyu, writer Yoon Hyun Ho, and actors Ahn Bo Hyun, Jo Bo Ah, Oh Yeon Soo, Kim Young Min, Kim Woo Seok, and more. Ahead of the reading, the director commented, “I’m so happy to get to work with such impressive people. I want to try creating an exciting action drama.” Once the reading began, the actors showcased passionate acting as if they were already filming and they each expressed their characters’ individual charms and personalities.
Ahn Bo Hyun plays Do Bae Man, a military prosecutor who chose the job for money and cannot wait for the day he can permanently escape his military uniform. At the reading, Ahn Bo Hyun carefully bounced back and forth between his character’s keen and clever personality and his surprisingly deep emotions. Not only did he perfect his lines, he also captured Do Bae Man’s gaze and gestures to bring the character to life.
To describe Do Bae Man, Ahn Bo Hyun commented, “In the drama, Bae Man has a lot of tenacity. Although it seems like he doesn’t know a lot about justice, he’s very just. He is a charming character who firmly goes by the book.”
For this role, Jo Bo Ah transformed her look with a short cut hairstyle. With this change alone, Jo Bo Ah perfectly captured the vibe of her character Cha Woo In. Cha Woo In is a military prosecutor who chose the job for revenge and flaunts talented investigation skills that are rarely seen in a new officer. With her incredible focus, Jo Bo Ah showcased Cha Woo In’s powerful gaze, dignified attitude, outspoken speech, and fearless courage.
The actress shared, “[Cha Woo In] can be described as a strong person who passes the bar exam with a goal and enters the military as a military prosecutor.”
Oh Yeon Soo plays No Hwa Young, the first female division leader since the military’s establishment. The actress displayed incredible synchronization with the role, starting with No Hwa Young’s tone, gaze, and vibe, to her bold charisma. Kim Young Min portrays lawyer Yong Moon Goo, the director of Korea’s leading law firm, and a former special forces prosecutor. Using his years of acting experience, Kim Young Min perfectly interpreted Yong Moon Goo’s sharp personality.
Kim Woo Seok will play third-generation chaebol No Tae Nam, who becomes the chairman of a leading conglomerate despite only being in his late 20s. As proof of his well-developed acting spectrum, Kim Woo Seok passionately immersed into his character to express No Tae Nam using his entire body.
At the end of the reading, Ahn Bo Hyun shared, “With this great script, many actors, the director, and staff members gathered in one place for our script reading, and I got the feeling that I wanted to quickly get to filming.” Jo Bo Ah added, “We start filming next week. As I am doing a lot of different preparations to act as Woo In, I ask that you look forward to [the drama].
The producers of “Military Prosecutor Doberman” commented, “The actors’ chemistry was so good to the point where we couldn’t believe it was only their first meeting. It’ll be great if you look forward to the characters’ individually fun, charming, and exciting stories. We will do our best to make sure that this current passionate atmosphere will be captured in the drama. Please look forward to the premiere and we ask for lots of interest.”
