Watch: GOT7’s JAY B, INFINITE’s Sunggyu, Minzy, And More Announced As Mentors For Upcoming IST Entertainment Survival Show

IST Entertainment has announced the mentors for their upcoming survival show in a new teaser!

The survival program is titled “THE ORIGIN – A, B, OR What?” and is jointly produced by Kakao Entertainment and Sony Music Solutions. The show will feature trainees being evaluated on their skills by senior K-pop artists, expert judges, and live audience members, and it will give viewers a chance to see the contestants’ growth potential as they compete to debut.

The new teaser gives a sneak peek at the trainees’ evaluations by giving viewers the option to play the “balance game” and pick between teams “A” and “B.” It also introduces the program’s mentors: INFINITE’s Sunggyu, Minzy, GOT7’s JAY B and Just Jerk’s Kwak Yoon Young and Hwang Gyu Hong.

Sunggyu comments, “This is the first audition program with the balance game format.” Minzy adds, “I thought a lot about how this was unique and original.” JAY B continues, “I’m planning on observing [the trainees] as keenly as possible.” Kwak Yoon Young shares, “I think everyone will showcase a different charm so I’m looking forward to a wide variety of aspects.”

These mentors, who are called “balancers,” have the role of picking the “ace” and “death” trainees. The “ace” trainee brings their winning team various benefits while the “death” trainee from the losing team will be sent home.

“THE ORIGIN – A, B, OR What?” will kick off on February 26 at 5 p.m. KST via MBN, Kakao TV, and 1theK and air every Saturday.
