“The One and Only” has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the main cast’s retro makeover!
JTBC’s “The One and Only” is a unique romance drama starring Ahn Eun Jin, Red Velvet’s Joy, and Kang Ye Won as three terminally ill women who meet at a hospice. They decide that before they die, they want to take down one bad guy before they go – and in their attempt to do so, Pyo In Sook (Ahn Eun Jin) winds up meeting “the one and only” most valuable person of her life (played by Kim Kyung Nam).
In the drama’s latest episode, Pyo In Sook, Sung Mi Do (Joy), and Kang Se Yeon (Kang Ye Won) enjoyed an exciting girl’s outing where Sung Mi Do gave her friends glamorous retro makeovers.
The high tension clip starts out with the trio giggling excitedly and the staff members unable to contain the girls. Kang Ye Won hilariously calls out, “I’m telling you, I’m the most normal here!” Joy imagines, “Since it’s retro, ‘U-Go-Girl’ (by Lee Hyori) is coming out [as background music].” She adds, “You know ‘U-Go-Girl’ is retro to kids these days,” making everyone laugh in disbelief.
Later, Ahn Eun Jin is taking photos of Joy when the director comes over to discuss the next scene. She looks at him with a blank stare so the director responds with a laugh, “Okay, take another one quickly.”
After they all pick out their new outfits, the trio sit outside as the director ranks the actresses from most to least “normal.” He puts Kang Ye Won first, Ahn Eun Jin second, and Joy third, but Kang Ye Won hilariously misinterprets the ranking and expresses her displeasure to the director.
Joy begins preparing for her upcoming emotional line about love, but Ahn Eun Jin and Kang Ye Won distract her by making all kinds of jokes. They start filming but their energy levels remain high as the three all struggle to keep in their laughter. As they dive into filming once more, Ahn Eun Jin tries too hard not to laugh, eventually making the director comment, “Cut! This won’t work. In Sook is too indifferent.”
