Actress Jin Ji Hee and figure skater Cha Jun Hwan will reunite on next week’s “Running Man”!
In February, SBS confirmed that Cha Jun Hwan and Jin Ji Hee, who were partners on the figure skating variety show “Kiss and Cry” in 2011, would be reuniting as guests on “Running Man.” Clips from the 2011 show regained attention after Cha Jun Hwan’s recent success at the Olympics.
Jin Ji Hee is a child actress who is best known for her iconic role in the sitcom “High Kick Through the Roof” and most recently her appearance in the hit “The Penthouse” series. Cha Jun Hwan is a figure skater who placed fifth in the men’s singles competition at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, the highest placement for a Korean male figure skater.
The preview begins with clips from “Kiss and Cry” 11 years ago before the cast welcomes Jin Ji Hee and Cha Jun Hwan onto the set. Jin Ji Hee is nicknamed “Rome-hee,” a combination of her name and “Romeo,” and Cha Jun Hwan is nicknamed “Jun-liet,” a reference to his “Romeo and Juliet” figure skating program a few seasons ago. Meeting for the first time in over a decade, the two greet each other awkwardly.
The young guest stars have to lead their teams and struggle to rein in their old-school (kkondae) members. Ji Suk Jin in particular keeps saying things like, “It’s because I think of him as a son,” and “This is how life is, okay?” Cha Jun Hwan is completely flustered by the appearance of a surprise guest, who later apologizes to him when she learns that he’s an Olympian. Jin Ji Hee runs around shouting for her team members and finally declares, “This team is screwed.” The preview ends with Cha Jun Hwan’s blindfolded team members desperately calling out his name, only for him to say calmly right next to them, “I’m right here.”
This episode will air on March 13. Check out the preview below!
