JTBC’s upcoming Saturday-Sunday drama “My Liberation Diary” (literal translation) has released a new teaser!
“My Liberation Diary” is about three siblings who want to escape their stifling lives and a mysterious outsider who comes to their town.
Kim Ji Won stars as Yum Min Jung, the youngest sibling, who is introverted and timid until she decides to make a change in order to liberate herself from her dreary and monochrome life. Lee Min Ki stars as Yum Chang Hee, the middle sibling, who had hoped for an exciting life in the city but now lives aimlessly without any ambition. Lee El plays Yum Ki Jung, the eldest sibling, who feels like her youth has been wasted on commuting back and forth to her job in Seoul and is desperate to find love. Son Seok Gu stars as Mr. Gu, the charming and mysterious outsider who suddenly arrives in town and gets drunk every day, having lost his purpose in life.
The preview shows the squabbling chemistry of the three siblings. The clip starts off with Yum Chang Hee saying, “Father, I don’t have a car. How do you expect me to date and marry? Everything happens in a car, but I don’t have one! Where else can couples kiss?” His hilarious outburst makes his family freeze as the air fills with awkward silence.
Yum Chang Hee’s complaints don’t end there. He demands Yum Ki Jung to wash her hair at night so that they don’t have to fight for the one and only bathroom every morning. The two siblings end up getting into a fight, and Yum Ki Jung throws her shoe, which ends up whacking Yum Min Jung in the head. The clip ends with Yum Chang Hee tripping and falling flat on his face, and Yum Min Jung shouting, “I told you not to do it!”
The three actors will turn into tacky but loveable siblings who create a warm story together. Check out the full teaser below!
“My Liberation Diary” will air on April 9 at 10:30 p.m. KST.
