Veteran Actor Byun Hee Bong Passes Away

Actor Byun Hee Bong has passed away at the age of 81.

On September 18, a representative of the actor announced, “Byun Hee Bong passed away on this day.” According to the bereaved family, Byun Hee Bong passed away while fighting a recurrence of pancreatic cancer, which had previously been declared cured.

Born in 1942, Byun Hee Bong worked as a theater actor and debuted in 1965 through MBC’s voice actor recruitment. The actor appeared in numerous projects including the dramas “My Too Perfect Sons,” “Blow Breeze,” and “My Lawyer, Mr. Jo 2: Crime and Punishment” as well as the films “Memories of Murder,” “The Host,” and “Okja.”
