Upcoming SBS drama “7 Escape” has shared stills of Uhm Ki Joon!
Starring Uhm Ki Joon, Hwang Jung Eum, Lee Joon, Lee Yoo Bi, Shin Eun Kyung, Yoon Jong Hoon, Jo Yoon Hee, and Jo Jae Yoon, “7 Escape” follows the story of seven characters involved in the disappearance of a young girl, who was tangled in a complicated web of lies and ambition. “7 Escape” is the third joint project by scriptwriter Kim Soon Ok and director Joo Dong Min who previously worked together on “The Last Empress” and the hit “The Penthouse” series.
Uhm Ki Joon will star as Matthew Lee, a representative of Korea’s largest mobile platform company. In the released stills, the confident Matthew Lee’s charisma is evident in his eyes. Matthew Lee burst onto the scene and rocked the world, but despite all the buzz, little is known about him.
After a girl who is entangled in a complicated web of lies and ambition goes missing, Matthew Lee appears and begins an unimaginable survival game to punish the seven evil people involved in her disappearance. Matthew Lee’s poker face as he stares into the distance makes viewers curious about the cruel and bloody punishment he will give the seven wicked people. Viewers can’t help but wonder what kind of connection Matthew Lee has with the seven villains and what kind of survival game the villains will be playing on his board game.
The fact that writer Kim Soon Ok, director Joo Dong Min, and actor Uhm Ki Joon have reunited after the phenomenal “The Penthouse” series is reason enough for viewers to be excited. Viewers are looking forward to Uhm Ki Joon’s transformation into the cold-hearted Matthew Lee after completely erasing his “The Penthouse” character Joo Dan Tae.
Explaining why he chose to star in “7 Escape,” Uhm Ki Joon commented, “I loved the idea of working with writer Kim Soon Ok and director Joo Dong Min again. I liked the character of Matthew Lee, who is 180 degrees different from Joo Dan Tae in ‘The Penthouse’ series.”
Uhm Ki Joon continued, “I play a character who tries to punish seven wicked people. I paid a lot of attention to the role because it is a completely different character from the ‘absolute evil’ I played in the last drama.”
“7 Escape” premieres on September 15 at 10 p.m. KST.
