“Twinkling Watermelon” has shared a new glimpse of Seol In Ah’s character!
“Twinkling Watermelon” is a fantasy coming-of-age drama in which a CODA (child of deaf adult) student born with a gift for music crash lands at an unfamiliar place after time traveling through a suspicious music shop. There, he forms the band Watermelon Sugar with other mysterious youths.
Ryeoun plays Eun Gyeol, the only person who can hear in his deaf family and who leads a double life as the perfect model student by day and a band guitarist by night. Choi Hyun Wook takes on the role of the passionate Lee Chan full of Generation X vibes. Seol In Ah transforms into Seowon Arts High School’s cello goddess Se Kyung whereas Shin Eun Soo plays the cold and haughty “ice princess” Chung Ah, who has been deaf since birth.
Seol In Ah plays Se Kyung whom Eun Gyeol’s father Lee Chan had one-sided feelings for in the year 1995. Se Kyung is known as a cello goddess who is everyone’s muse with her elegant and pure beauty. However, not only does she have high standards for men, but she is also busy with her tight schedule filled with practice, lessons, and competitions, so she cleanly rejects everyone’s advances including that from Lee Chan.
Although there are those who are discouraged by Se Kyung’s thorny attitude, it only ignites Lee Chan’s passion even more.
In the newly released still, students gather around Se Kyung, circling her like a moon to even just experience her indifferent gaze.
Se Kyung also gets swept up in an unexpected love triangle as shown in a previously released teaser. Eun Gyeol is surprised to learn that Lee Chan had feelings for Se Kyung rather than his mom Chung Ah, raising anticipation for what role Se Kyung will play in their romance.
The production team shared, “Actress Seol In Ah multiplied the classic charm of her character Se Kyung with her trademark vibes. Please look forward to actress Seol In Ah’s performance that will make viewers immediately understand Se Kyung’s nickname as an icon of first love.”
“Twinkling Watermelon” is set to premiere on September 25 at 8:50 p.m. KST. Stay tuned!
