Uhm Ji Yoon will be making a special appearance in the upcoming second season of “The Uncanny Counter”!
Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, tvN’s “The Uncanny Counter” is a superhero drama starring Jo Byeong Gyu, Kim Sejeong, Yoo Joon Sang, and Yeom Hye Ran as demon hunters with supernatural powers. Two and a half years after the first season’s successful run, the drama is returning with its long-awaited second season this weekend.
In the second episode of “The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch,” Uhm Ji Yoon will make a cameo as Na Jeok Bong (Yoo In Soo)’s blind date. Na Jeok Bong is a naive country boy who will be joining the show’s squad of heroes as a brand-new Counter—and according to the drama’s production team, Uhm Ji Yoon’s character will play a key role in Na Jeok Bong getting recruited by the Counters.
After filming her scene-stealing cameo, Uhm Ji Yoon remarked, “Although I acted standoffish [in the drama], in real life, the Na Jeok Bong I met was handsome.”
“It’s a huge honor to be able to even briefly be a part of ‘The Uncanny Counter 2,'” she continued. “I’m grateful to the director and Yoo In Soo, who were very friendly. The atmosphere on the filming set was great, and I had a lot of fun during filming, so I think the drama will be a big hit.”
Meanwhile, the producers of “The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch” shared, “Uhm Ji Yoon was asked to make a special appearance because director Yoo Sun Dong is a fan of hers. Even though she began filming immediately, without a rehearsal, Uhm Ji Yoon and Yoo In Soo exhibited flawless teamwork and chemistry, to the point where they were even throwing around tons of ad libs that weren’t in the script.”
“The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch” will premiere on July 29 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
