Ji Chang Wook and Ryu Seung Ryong may be appearing together in a new webtoon-based drama!
On July 28, JTBC Entertainment News reported that Ji Chang Wook and Ryu Seung Ryong would be starring in “Pine” (literal title).
In response to the report, an official from Ji Changwook’s agency Spring Company commented, “It is true that Ji Chang Wook has received an offer from the production team of ‘Pine.’ However, at the moment, it is just one of the projects he received an offer for. He’s still reviewing the offer along with other ones.”
Similarly, Ryu Seung Ryong’s agency Prain TPC stated that “Pine” is one of the projects the actor has received an offer for.
“Pine” is a drama adaptation based on a webtoon of the same name by Yoon Tae Ho, the creator of the hit webtoon “Misaeng.” The plot is based on a true story of when a 200 ton merchant ship carrying a vast collection of artifacts, including 7 million in Chinese currency and 22,000 Song and Yuan ceramics, was discovered near Sinan, Jeollanam province, in 1975.
Ji Chang Wook and Ryu Seung Ryong have been offered the roles of Hee Dong and Gwan Seok, nephew and uncle who will embark on a perilous treasure hunt to find underwater artifacts off the coast of Sinan.
