Tsuchiya Tao is a Japanese actress, model, and dancer. Her older sister, Honoka, works as a model, while her younger brother, Shimba, is also an actor and voice actor. Chosen from among 2,020 women auditioning for the part, Tsuchiya was cast in the starring role of "Mare", a morning drama serial aired on Japan's public television starting March 30, 2015.
In 2018, Tsuchiya performed in a theatre production in five cities within four countries around the world. The production was an adaptation from the manga *Pluto*. She played two main characters: a little cyborg girl named Uran and a cyborg woman named Helena.
She planned to participate in another Stage Play challenge in Tokyo during the summer of 2020, joining a Madam Mari Natsuki production called "Neo Vol. 4" but was postponed due to the spread of the new coronavirus in 2020.
In 2021, she graduated from Japan Women’s College of Physical Education, majoring in Dance Studies.
On January 1, 2023, she and actor Katayose Ryota announced marriage and they are expecting their first child.
On January 26, 2023, it was announced the stage production will resume, opening in June, under the new title "The Miracle of Pinocchio" in which she would star in.
On 29 August, 2023, she and actor Katayose Ryota announced, on Ryota's 29th birthday, the birth of their first child.
