Jo Gap Kyung is a South Korean singer-songwriter. She graduated from Sangmyung Girls' High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Broadcasting Entertainment from the Seoul Arts College. Before debuting, she participated in the 1986 MBC College Song Festival as the main vocalist of the band Sketchbook and won a prize with the song "Playing House". She then gained recognition in 1988 when she sang a duet with Lee Jung Seok called "Love Conversation", which led to release her 1st album one year later called "Stupid Smile" and to win the Rookie Award at the 1989 KBS Music Awards. In 1990, singer Hong Seo Beom was scheduled to release the song "My Love To You" with fellow singer Jang Pil Soon, but he met Jo earlier and fell in love, so he decided to re-record the song. Despite the 9-year age difference, they got married in 1994 and the couple has 3 children. Now that her children have grown up a bit, she frequently appears in music programs and variety shows and has a radio show since 2018.
