Furukawa Yuki is a Japanese actor who grew up abroad. At the age of seven, he and his family moved from Japan to Canada. Then they relocated to the United States when Furukawa was sixteen. He completed high school there before returning to Japan to study Engineering at Keio University.
Furukawa gained fame for his 2013 breakthrough leading role in the Japanese television drama Mischievous Kiss: Love in Tokyo. He presented a new image of the classical manga role of Irie Naoki alongside Honoka Miki who played his love interest. But his fame was not limited to Japan, it extended across the East China Sea into China. Within two months of joining Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, the number of his followers increased to more than 500,000.[3] Due to his popularity in China he starred in the Fuji TV/iQiyi web-drama Mysterious Summer, the first drama series co-produced by Japan and China. The series was viewed more than 60 million times on the Chinese online video platform iQiyi and it was distributed online in more than 35 countries worldwide.
He married his non celebrity girlfriend on June 22, 2019. That fall, they tweeted to announce the birth of their first child. While her birth is public knowledge, her birthdate, location, and name were withheld.
