Dong Jie is a Chinese actress born in Dalian, Liaoning. She graduated from the Dance Department of the Military Culture College of the National Defense University of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
She started gaining popularity in 2000 after taking part in the CCTV Spring Festival Gala. The same year director Zhang Yi Mou selected her to star in the film "Happy Times," for which she won the 7th China Film Huabiao Award for New Film Talent and the Best Actress Award at the 47th Valladolid International Film Festival in Spain.
In 2003, she starred in the romantic drama "The Story of a Noble Family," which won the CCTV annual ratings award.
In 2018, she won the finals of Dragon TV's "Shake It Up." The same year she won the Anhui Satellite TV's National Opera Festival Charismatic Actress Award for her role in "Secret of Three Kingdoms."
In 2008, she married actor Pan Yue Ming and gave birth to a son a year later, but they divorced in 2012 after Dong accused Pan of being a gambler.
