The group debuted in 2012. In November 2014, the group filed a lawsuit against its agency. He left TS Entertainment in December 24, 2018 after his contract expired. B.A.P. disbanded on February 18, 2019.
He signed with A Entertainment on January 11, 2019. On August 21, 2019 he sent A Entertainment a contract termination letter citing unpaid wages, but the agency did not agree to the termination. In a lawsuit, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of the plaintiff and certified the contract annulment one year later.
On Aug 17, 2022 it was announced that Zelo has recently signed an exclusive contract with Uzu Rocks, a multi-channel content and media company.
