Upcoming SBS drama “Now, We Are Breaking Up” (literal title) starring Song Hye Kyo and Jang Ki Yong has shared a look into the script reading that took place in April!
In attendance were director Lee Gil Bok, writer Je In, and actors Song Hye Kyo, Jang Ki Yong, Choi Hee Seo, Kim Joo Heon, Park Hyo Joo, Yoon Na Moo, Yoon Jung Hee, Joo Jin Mo, Cha Hwa Yeon, and more. Director Lee Gil Bok previously worked on “My Love From the Star,” “Vagabond,” and “Dr. Romantic 2,” while writer Je In penned “Misty.”
In “Now, We Are Breaking Up,” Song Hye Kyo will play Ha Young Eun, a manager of the design team at a fashion label who is a trendy and intelligent realist. She pushed the story on with her solid acting skills and high level of immersion into her role as she portrayed both her character’s trendy side as a fashion designer as well as the realistic love and friendships of an average woman in her 30s.
Jang Ki Yong is the male lead Yoon Jae Guk, a wealthy and popular freelancer photographer who also has the brains and looks. He became fully synchronized with his character in every way, from his gaze to his facial expressions and way of speaking. In his own style, Jang Ki Yong portrayed Yoon Jae Guk’s tendency to deal with with love in a way that is unbothered at times, careful at others, and passionate sometimes.
Song Hye Kyo and Jang Ki Yong also exhibited amazing teamwork as they set a romantic atmosphere. Simply by making eye contact and sharing a conversation, they appeared to be a pair in love. Viewers should look forward to the romantic chemistry they will be bringing to the small screen.
Choi Hee Seo’s acting transformation is also worth noting. She plays Hwang Chi Sook, the director of the fashion label’s design team who appears extravagant on the outside but hides a loneliness on the inside. The role will bring out Choi Hee Seo’s energetic side that was not often highlighted in her previous works.
Kim Joo Heon captivated everyone with his charms as a mature man. Playing the PR company CEO Seok Do Hoon, the actor amplified his character’s appeal as he portrayed Seok Do Hoon’s coexisting maturity and innocence. The love line between Seok Do Hoon and Hwang Chi Sook will be another one to look forward to.
Park Hyo Joo and Yoon Na Moo tested their teamwork in their roles as a married couple, delivering realistic and emotive acting. Veteran actors Joo Jin Mo, Cha Hwa Yeon, Nam Gi Ae, and Choi Hong Il captured everyone’s attention with the weight of their presence and their strong acting skills, while Yoon Jung Hee and Yura added more energy to the drama with their unique acting styles.
The table read was described as focused and passionate, with everyone playing their part with vigor. Director Lee Gil Bok, writer Je In, and the production team paid attention to even the smallest details to ensure that the quality of the production would be top-tier. Anticipation only rises further as the drama is said to have started off on the right foot.
Friday-Saturday drama “Now, We Are Breaking Up” will premiere in November following the conclusion of “One the Woman.”
