Recap Korean Drama "Kiss Sixth Sense" Episode 7

Kiss Sixth Sense (키스 식스 센스) is a romantic-fantasy Korean drama series directed by Nam Ki-hoon and stars Yoon Kye-sang, Seo Ji-hye, Kim Ji-suk and Hwang Bo-ra, alongside other cast members. The series has 12 episodes, each with a runtime of around an hour. The series is based on the webtoon of the same name by Gatnyeo. Kiss Sixth Sense episode 7 has a runtime of 64 minutes.

Kiss Sixth Sense episode 7 starts with a tensed Ye-sool going to work after the last episode’s proposal. At work, things seem cool with Min-hu, who doesn’t mention anything about the dating. She thinks back to her proposal the other night and wonders about her candid confession about her feelings towards him and his eventual acceptance of her proposal until she is brought back from her daydream by her supervisor.

That night, Min-hu takes her on their first date where she mentions that they should have some rules surrounding their unusual dating style. She’s written up a document outlining different things and then, hilariously, both mention that they would rather not kiss each other – considering everything that has happened over the past few days.

However, since the creators cannot let people be happy, Ji-young gets there out of the blue and acts all jealous and possessive, asking him whether he told her his secret and whether she agreed to date her even after knowing everything. An awkward moment later, Ye-sool asks him what his relationship with Ji-young is and gets to know that she’s like a sister to him and that they’ve grown up together.

Funnily, before she goes inside, Min-hu asks her whether she wants him to stay with her for the night since they haven’t caught the burglar yet. Ye-sool looks scandalized, but Min-hu’s expression is priceless – he’s just having too much fun with this.

Anyway, Min-hu is uncomfortable telling Ye-sool about his problem since he doesn’t want to worry her. It’s not fair for him to put that burden on her and I am pretty sure this will be a point of contention between them later on. As the Mopix project runs into problems with the constant change demands from the client, Pil-yo is annoyed with the constant demands causing friction between him and Min-hu. Ye-sool helps him out of the rut and Pil-yo revises the entire concept to something more interesting.

Ye-sool continues to help Pil-yo, who takes inspiration from her father to create an ad that is full of emotion. However, when he asks her about their second date, she tells him that she’s already dating Min-hu. He refuses to believe her though and makes it clear that he isn’t deterred by her relationship status.

Ye-sool makes it clear later that when she agreed to the three dates, she wanted to take the opportunity to get some closure for both of them. It wasn’t an invitation to start their relationship over. He asks her what she saw that made her go away from their relationship but she doesn’t elaborate, making him sad.

 

However, hilariously, Min-hu is unhappy with her spending time with the man who is dead set on perusing his girlfriend romantically. As they discuss his possessive nature, a surprise guest in the meeting place pushes the two to rush into a utility closet where a little banter later, she asks him why he didn’t ask her out if he liked her for this long.

Poor thing mentions that on her first day he wanted to be nicer to her and get to know her, but realized then and there that her heart was elsewhere. Plus, the constant berating that he had to hear thanks to his heightened senses didn’t help either!

After they share stories of their weird relationship with each other, Min-hu runs out of the room after the sexual tension gets a bit much, but not before telling her that he will find a way to kiss her and that if he does, she should just stay over that night. He runs off with a smile on his face, leaving her red on the face.

As the third Saturday rolls around, Ye-sool hangs out with her visiting mother while Min-hu goes to the orphanage where he grew up in. Ye-sool discusses the accident she was in with her father when she was young and asks her mother why she doesn’t remember anything about it. Her mother exclaims that it’s for the best that she only has good memories. Meanwhile, Min-hu discusses with the orphanage director and Ji-young’s father his symptoms and why they might be disappearing around Ye-sool.

As Pil-yo shows his ad concept to the Mopix head, it gets the green light and everyone likes it so much that he asks Ye-sool to head the project once more. Min-hu looks happy with the outcome of the meeting, except Kim Min-hee, who looks quite annoyed.

 

As Pil-yo decides to meet Ye-sool to discuss plans with her, however, he is stunned to find the agreement and berates her for how she is going about it. She clearly states that it’s just a joke between her and her boyfriend and asks Pil-yo to stay out of it. He then tells her that he knows about her secret – he had always known.

Ah, what an exciting episode. Kiss Sixth Sense is honestly doing a great job at creating a sweet, fun and tense show that showcases different parts of our protagonists’ lives in such an entertaining way.

The banter between Ye-sool and Min-hu is probably the best part of the series and they are so good at keeping that banter alive. The actors have great chemistry and the tension between them in such situations is evident even to the audience. Every cutesy jab, every bold claim, and every romantic glance is done so realistically that it’s relatable in every sense.

Well, except for the future seeing part – but this is a fantasy series after all.

My biggest gripe is with Pil-yo’s character who is too entitled that he thinks that he can boss an adult around regarding her romantic and life choices. Even best friends don’t have the right to dictate their friends’ lives so I don’t get where he is coming from. At this point, I just want to see him fail.

All in all, the series mashes the various elements together deliciously well and hooks the audience with shocking ease.
