OCN, a television network known for creating unique dramas across diverse genres, has announced the exciting lineup for the first half of 2019!
Here are the various projects coming soon:
“Trap”
Cast: Lee Seo Jin, Sung Dong Il, Im Hwa Young, Seo Young Hee, Kim Kwang Kyu, Jo Dal Hwan
Premiere: February 9 at 10:20 p.m. KST
“Trap” is a thriller drama about news anchor Kang Woo Hyun (Lee Seo Jin) who falls into an unknown trap. As the first drama of OCN’s new “Dramatic Cinema” project, it will combine the sharp production level of films and the high quality stories of dramas. It is directed by Park Shin Woo, who previously directed “Into the White Night,” and written by Nam Sang Wook, who previously penned “TEN.” The seven-episode drama will air on Saturdays and Sundays.
“Possessed”
Cast: Song Sae Byuk, Go Jun Hee, Yeon Jung Hoon, Jo Han Sun, Lee Won Jong
Premiere: March 6 at 11 p.m. KST
The upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama is a comical thriller about a detective with strong gut instincts (Song Sae Byuk) and a woman who was born with the powers of a psychic (Go Jun Hee) who chase a wicked soul that possesses humans to commit crimes.
“Kill It”
Cast: Jang Ki Yong, Nana
Premiere: March
Formerly known as “Blue Eyes,” the upcoming killer action drama will feature Jang Ki Yong as Kim Soo Hyun, a killer who becomes a veterinarian, and Nana as Do Hyun Jin, an ace detective. The drama will air on Saturdays and Sundays.
“Voice 3”
As announced previously, “Voice” will be returning for a third season. Lee Ha Na has been confirmed for the new season, while Lee Jin Wook is in talks. The third season of the thriller, which holds the record for the highest ratings by an OCN drama, is set to premiere sometime in the first half of the year.
“Save Me 2”
It has now been confirmed that “Save Me” will also return with a new season this year. The first season starred 2PM’s Taecyeon, Seo Ye Ji, Woo Do Hwan, and Jo Sung Ha and gained attention for its unique plot of fighting against a religious cult. The second season will be directed by Lee Kwon, who has led the film “Door Lock.”
“Watcher”
The new investigative thriller is about three people who uncover corruption of the police after their lives are destroyed due to a tragic incident. It will be written by Han Sang Woon, who previously created “The Good Wife,” and directed by Ahn Kil Ho of “Secret Forest” and “Memories of the Alhambra.”
“Strangers from Hell” (working title)
Im Siwan recently confirmed that his first project after being discharged from the military will be “Strangers from Hell,” a thriller drama based on a popular webtoon of the same name. The actor will play Yoon Jong Woo, a young man who moves to Seoul from the countryside and encounters mysterious incidents. The project will be OCN’s second drama for the “Dramatic Cinema” project.
