Even before its release, NewJeans is already breaking personal records with their upcoming mini album!
On July 21, NewJeans’ album distributor YG PLUS officially announced that as of July 20, the group’s second mini album “Get Up” had surpassed 1.72 million stock pre-orders.
With this achievement, NewJeans has more than doubled their previous record of 800,000 stock pre-orders (set by their single album “OMG” earlier this year).
Only two girl group albums have ever recorded a higher number of stock pre-orders to date: BLACKPINK’s “BORN PINK” and aespa’s “MY WORLD.”
The number of stock pre-orders is the amount of album stock that is produced prior to an album’s release. The figure is the estimated demand calculated using various factors, including how many albums were pre-ordered by fans.
Meanwhile, NewJeans’ pre-release single “Super Shy” has been performing well on both domestic and international music charts. In addition to earning a perfect all-kill in Korea, the song achieved NewJeans’ highest rankings yet on both the United Kingdom’s Official Singles chart and Billboard’s Hot 100 in the United States.
NewJeans also pre-released two music videos for their title track “Cool With You” starring “Squid Game” actress Jung Ho Yeon and veteran actor Tony Leung, both of which you can check out here! (Their other two title tracks, “ETA” and “ASAP,” will be released together with their new mini album on July 21 at 1 p.m. KST.)
Congratulations to NewJeans on their impressive new personal record!
