My Demon (2023) KDrama Episode 6

Dec 9, 2023

My Demon episode 6 takes us back to when Gwang-chol attacked Do-hee at her house. In the few moments before she passed out from the chloroform, Do-hee called her emergency contacts. Obviously, Gu-won saw her call and ran the red lights on his way to save her. After he got there, he found her hanging from the rooftop railings, on the brink of death.

Thankfully, he managed to grab her hand and save her just in time. Unfortunately, Gwang-chol was still in the room. Once he saw Gu-won, he attacked him with a knife, forcing him to lose his grip, and he and Do-hee start falling.

Gu-won quickly activates his powers and they land safely on the stairwell. At the same time, Seok-hoon arrives, running up the stairs (the elevators are not working) and notices Do-hee clutching onto Gu-won as he comforts her. As expected, Seok-hoon is hurt to see them embrace.

Later, they all return to the house, and Gu-won ensures the intruder is gone. Do-hee says that based on Gwang-chol’s behaviour, he didn’t just want to kill her. He seemed to enjoy her terror and set everything, even the music, to perfectly heighten the thrill of finally catching his prey. Gu-won agrees, and Seok-hoon starts questioning why the latter seems familiar with how a murderer works. In response, Gu-won says he is familiar with this. As they talk, Do-hee checks the footage on her phone, and they realise Gwang-chol is wearing a disguise.

After things calm down, Seok-hoon takes Gu-won aside and asks him what he and Do-hee are hiding from. However, Gu-won refuses to tell him anything and says Do-hee must have his reasons. They start arguing about who is on Do-hee’s side, and Seok-hoon pretty much confesses his feelings for Do-hee. Gu-won insists that he, too, is on Do-hee’s side and will help her.

After this conversation, Seok-hoon finds Do-hee reliving the attack on the balcony and asks if she is okay. Do-hee responds that she was taking the matter lightly until she faced death earlier that night. At that moment, she felt alone. Now, she is worried about the killer’s real identity, and Seok-hoon asks her not to be scared. He then suddenly proposes to her. However, before Do-hee can respond, Gu-won interrupts and proposes to her. Do-hee is surprised and asks for time to think.

The following day, Do-hee keeps getting distracted as she thinks about the proposals. On the other hand, Gu-won can’t believe Do-hee didn’t automatically choose him. He sees an article on Seok-hoon in the newspaper and gets more jealous. Luckily, Bok-gyu drops by in an attempt to spy on him. Gu-won is quick to know Ga-young sent him but still tells Bok-gyu about the events of last night. Bok-gyu is shocked to hear that Gu-won proposed to Do-hee and has yet to get an answer.

In the meantime, Do-hee asks Jung-mi to use her expert tarot card reading skills and help her make a decision. Do-hee picks the wheel of fortune card, and Jung-mi explains it symbolises a reunion, but it also symbolises the end and a new beginning.

Soon after, Gu-won spots Seok-hoon dropping by Do-hee’s office with flowers. He grows more jealous, especially after seeing the two laughing together. He asks Han-sung what it means to be saved as someone’s emergency contact. Han-sung explains that it means that person trusts you the most among all others. Gu-won is happy for a minute before it dawns on him that Do-hee also saved Seok-hoon as her emergency contact.

On the other hand, Seok-hoon and Do-hee quickly cut through the awkwardness and reminisce. Seok-hoon admits his feelings for her and is sincere about his proposal. Sadly, Do-hee doesn’t feel the same and sees him as family.

On his way out, Seok-hoon runs into Gu-won, and they head outside to talk. The jealousy between them is evident as Seok-hoon demands to know why Gu-won is playing with Do-hee’s feelings. One minute, he is turning her down. The next, he is proposing. Gu-won is adamant he is not fooling around, and when Seok-hoon warns him not to cross the line, Gu-won says there is no line he can’t cross.

Later, Do-hee leaves the office, and Gu-won drives her to her destination. On the way, Do-hee asks Gu-won why he proposed, and he says, “Just because.” He seems cross since Do-hee saved Seok-hoon and him as her emergency contact. Do-ee clarifies that she sees Seok-hoon as family.

Do-hee decides to make an appearance at the ground-breaking ceremony for one of Mirae Group’s upcoming projects. All her family members are shocked to see her, but their jaws drop further when Do-hee announces that she will be getting married the next day. At the function, Do-hee spots her stalker but is unable to pursue him. She nearly trips as she watches the man, but Gu-won saves her again.

The scene cuts to Do-hee’s wedding day. She uses this occasion to market her company as a true business-minded person. Da-jeong, being a skilled secretary, manages to make everything work in a few hours, and we have a wedding. Han-sung is the photographer, and Jung-mi can’t hide her sadness over losing Gu-won – not that she had him in the first place!

Before the wedding, Do-hee imagines speaking to Cheon-sook, who wishes her well. Cheon-sook seems happy that Do-hee is finally getting married and teases her. Do-hee is curious if Cheon-sook is doing well in the afterlife.

Everything runs smoothly, and even Do-hee’s family show up to celebrate her. However, it seems like Suk-min is cooking up something. Through a flashback, we learn that Gu-won proposed to Do-hee because he didn’t want her to die. The two signed a contract stating their obligations in this marriage and their boundaries.

According to the contract, they will act like an ideal couple publicly but have boundaries in their privacy. The contract will end as soon as both parties achieve their goals. This means once Do-hee handles the messy situation with her killer and antagonistic family, Gu-won will get his powers back.

After the wedding, the couple takes a few photos for the media. Of course, they must act like they are in love, and the media asks them to kiss. The couple obliges, but Gu-won only moves closer and places his fingers between their lips. Even without a kiss, Do-hee quickly moves past the moment and gets on with the day. At the same time, Da-Jeong and Bok-gyu get competitive about their bosses.

As the groom takes his photos, she talks to Seok-hoon and explains she sees him as family. He promises to be there for her. Seok-hoon wishes her the best in new life. Gu-won sees them talking and approaches Do-hee and starts acting possessive intentionally. He then warns Seok-hoon to stop lusting after his wife! Seok-hoon returns to the office and starts investigating Sunwool Foundation to learn more about Gu-won.

Elsewhere, Ga-young loses her temper after hearing about Gu-won’s wedding. Bok-gyu tries to calm her down, but she leaves angrily.

After the wedding, Gu-won and Do-hee return to her apartment and register Gu-won’s fingerprint on the new lock. Gu-won is surprised to see the state of Gu-won’s house and uses his powers to clean it. Do-hee asks for a favour, and he helps her retrieve the blouse she threw away in anger after he rejected her several times.

Meanwhile, Do-hee starts suspecting Do-gyeong the more she thinks about her interactions with him lately. Do-gyeong has been giving strange vibes, and she wonders if he is working with the stalker to kill her. After a long day, the newlyweds separately go to bed, and it is easy to tell there is some awkwardness between them.

The following morning, Gu-won finds himself falling more for cute Do-hee in her natural element. Do-hee asks for his help to tail Do-gyeong and find out what he has been up to. They tail Do-gyeong for a good part of the day until he takes the subway to an empty storage locker at the subway station.

Do-gyeon realises someone is tailing him after seeing two heads sticking out of a photo booth at the station. He approaches the booth, but Gu-won’s powers refuse to work. Unable to teleport, Gu-won kisses Do-hee as Do-gyeong stands outside, about to pull the curtain. Do-hee is taken aback by the sudden kiss.

The Episode Review

We finally got a wedding, our demon and Mirae Group princess decided to tie the knot! It took them long enough, but this is where it gets more interesting. The scene where Gu-won saves Do-hee is a clear sign that he is falling deeper than he cares to admit. Do-hee may also hide it, but she likes him too. Since this is a contract wedding, the couple didn’t put any effort into their wedding, which is a pity. Seeing them bicker about what they wanted at the wedding would have been nice.

Speaking of the wedding, what did Suk-min mean when he said he would reveal something later? What does he know, and how will it affect Do-hee? He should focus more on his son, who is out here trying to kill people every day out of pure spite. Why was Do-gyeong at the subway station, and what was supposed to be in the locker? Do-gyeong looked surprised to see it empty.
