My Demon episode 2 picks up where we left off with Gu-won grabbing Do-hee’s arm and checking the tattoo on her arm. He asks what is happening, and she questions who he is and what he has done to her. She faints, and he holds her in his arms as water falls around them.
A flashback shows the tattoo transferring to Do-hee’s arm while she struggles to save him. As soon as Do-hee passed out in the water, Gu-won gained consciousness and grabbed her arm.
Presently, Do-hee wakes up at the hospital with a sweet-looking Gu-won and Da-jeong by her side. Do-hee is curious about what happened, and the secretary explains she has been sleeping for the past five hours. Gu-won alerted Da-jeong to their trouble, and she came through.
Do-hee is surprised to see Gu-won acting so sweet in front of Da-jeong and asks what is wrong with him. After Da-jeong leaves to call the doctor, Gu-won’s true colours pop out. He tells Do-hee that he has already given the police a detailed description of the culprit. The conversation switches to the tattoo, and Do-hee tries to rub it off. She realises it is a real tattoo and starts considering laser treatment to get it off.
Gu-won hurries to block her way, and they continue to bicker. Gu-won is offended that she wants to get rid of his tattoo and gives her a warning. He grabs her arm and notices that he can control his demon powers as long as he holds her hand. In the scuffle, Do-hee accidentally gives him a hard slap.
The doctor arrives and says Do-hee passed out from exhaustion. The police also arrive to get Do-hee’s statement about the incident. They start by checking the facts of the case, and the blind date comes up. The police joke that the two have been through a lot since their first date, and they should probably get married. Of course, Do-hee and Gu-won vehemently turn down that idea, saying they don’t wish to get married. They claim their blind date was a mistake forced upon them. Gu-won receives an alert that the time is almost up for a soul, and he excuses himself.
He heads back to his office and finds Bok-gyu reading the demon manual. He is unsure how Bok-gyu got his hands on his book, but he takes it back and keeps it in a safe. Bok-gyu notices something is off- Gu-won no longer has his tattoo. Initially, Gu-won tries to pretend everything is fine, but Bok-gyu refuses to let the issue go. He wonders why Gu-won wants him to do a background check on Do-hee and how the demon lost his powers.
Bok-gyu is worried about the loss of Gu-won’s powers, and Gu-won explains that if a demon fails to make new deals, he starts to combust. He is also worried about himself and how Gu-won will collect souls. Gu-won is adamant that collecting souls is as easy as chewing gum, but it pans out differently when he goes to work. The contract is with a wrestler, and he and his friends go to town on Gu-won. This forces the demon to retreat and come up with a new plan.
Meanwhile, Do-hee gets ready to head to the office. Da-jeong informs her that the company has been losing money since Su-ahn’s interference. Although this is a pending matter, Do-hee wants to stop by Cheon-sook’s house. She is still worried about the words the killer said to her. She visits Cheon-sook at the hospital and offers to drop her home since she is getting discharged.
The old lady has been given a clean bill of health, and Do-hee is relieved. Once they get home, she asks if Cheon-sook is lying or hiding something from her. Cheon-sook says she is an open book as far as they are concerned but not as a businesswoman. She distracts Do-hee with her jokes, and Do-hee believes her. However, based on Cheon-sook’s facial expression, she is definitely hiding something.
As they talk, Seok-hoon drops by to give Cheon-sook the latest report. She glazes over it and says it is okay. She observes Do-hee and Seok-hoon and suggests they marry each other. Obviously, the two say that is outrageous and quickly take their leave. Seok-hoon pretends he left his car behind, taking Do-hee up on her offer to drop him off at work.
He offers to drive but nearly gets into an accident when Do-hee informs him she went on a blind date. Unfortunately, Da-jeong is hurt when he suddenly pulls the brakes and has a nosebleed. She gets angry and decides to drive instead. Do-hee and Seok-hoon sit at the back, talking about how they don’t wish to get married. They joke and tease each other. Do-hee offers to help Seok-hoon with his tie, but she can’t fix it. He also offers to help with the company issue, but Do-hee says she is on it.
On the other hand, Gi Gwang-chol (Killer) heads back to his place and takes out the mask he is wearing. This means that the detailed description Gu-won gave the police is useless. The room is filled with fake IDs and photos of his victims. He also has pictures of Do-hee pinned on his wall. His landlord stops by to check if everything is okay and is lured inside. Through their conversation, we learn that Gwang-chol is pretending to be an actor working at the studio. The landlord was likely killed the minute he stepped inside the house.
Concurrently, Gu-won tries to read his demon manual and finds nothing about tattoo transference. He calls Bok-gyu to get an update on Do-hee. Bok-gyu has been doing a background check and fills his boss with all the information on Do-hee. Do-hee is known to be intelligent yet cold. She is considered Mirae’s group princess and has worked hard to start her company from the ground. Her parents died when she was 11, and Cheon-sook took her in.
After hearing this, Gu-won decides to bewitch Do-hee and get his powers back. Later, Ga-young finds out that Gu-on lost his powers and is seducing Do-hee and loses her temper. Nonetheless, Bok-gyu has faith in Gu-won because he managed to trick him in two lifetimes. Bok-gyu remembers his past lives and knows what hell is like.
In the meantime, Do-hee stops by the office and tries to find a solution to the company’s current problem. So far, their rebuttal and legal actions against the false information have yet to work. Seeing this, Do-hee decides to take a different approach. Da-jeong worries about the attempted murder incident and apologises to Do-hee for not being there. Do-hee says it is not her fault and thanks her for not telling the family what happened.
Do-hee takes action against Su-ahn by threatening to reveal her hidden affair if she fails to take down the article. She clearly says she will not be messed with and is willing to fight back. Su-ahn is angry but has no choice but to call the journalist and pay him to take down the article and offer a public apology.
Meanwhile, Cheon-sook heads to the confessional to beg for forgiveness. The Father urges her to confess the truth, but she is not ready yet. In a flashback, we see her standing near a car when it explodes, and her knee hurts. It is unclear if she was involved in Do-hee’s parent’s death and why she was standing near that car.
After handling Su-ahn, Do-hee agrees to meet with Gu-won, and he confesses that he is having trouble after the last incident. Do-hee offers to pay him, but he turns the money down. He says he has become lethargic and needs her help. He asks her to join him for a drive. He then uses her to get rid of the wrestler. He takes advantage of the fact that he can still use his powers when holding her tattooed arm.
Do-hee is shocked but fails to understand what is going on. She thinks he is into her, but he only wants his powers back. He takes her for a stroll by the river and pushes her into the water. Do-hee is shocked and appalled by his actions. She starts crying, asking why he did that, knowing very well she is already traumatised by what happened to them at the bridge. She is also frustrated that everyone around her wishes her ill. She continues to cry, asking what she did wrong to deserve such treatment. He explains that she would have refused if he had asked them to jump into the river.
Gu-won is remorseful after her outburst, but she throws money at his face, saying she no longer owes him and walks away. Bok-gyu observes this interaction, and once Do-hee leaves, he teases Gu-won for being clueless. However, Gu-won is frustrated because his powers haven’t returned. He thought this was a sure-fire way to get his tattoo back.
In the meantime, Ga-young practises her sword dancing, channelling her anger with Do-hee. The scene intercuts with the killer delivering a phone to someone else. Su-ahn loses her patience as she cleans the mess she created, and Seok-hoon, weirdly looking at the tie Do-hee, tries to fix it for him.
On the other hand, Do-hee crosses the road on her way home, and someone tries to pour acid on her. Thankfully, Gu-won is once again quick to save her even though he gets hurt. His actions move do-hee. She narrates how his presence in her life changed everything.
The episode ends with them staring at each other on the crosswalk as he holds her arm, and the tattoo turns red.
In this episode, everyone is starting to look suspicious as they all have motives to want Do-hee dead. We still need to find out who is working with Gwang-chol, but they must be close to Do-hee. We are also intrigued by Cheon-sook’s secret and how it ties into the mystery of the killer.
As we learn more about the different characters, Ga-young comes across as someone to be wary of. Her determination to make Gu-won like her is scary. She is looking into Do-hee and seems to intensely hate that the Mirae princess is linking up with Gu-won. What is her story with Gu-won? Why is he so important to her?
Nonetheless, the episode didn’t disappoint, as the chemistry between the leads is fun to watch. We look forward to seeing what happens in the upcoming episode.
