“Mr. Plankton” Production Team Releases Statement Regarding Accusations Of Illegal Dumping

 

The production team of “Mr. Plankton” has spoken up regarding accusations of dumping trash illegally after filming.

On October 16, Sports Seoul reported that they received a tip from a reader who claimed that the production team of Netflix’s upcoming drama “Mr. Plankton” illegally dumped trash after filming on Jeju Island. According to the photos provided by the informant, the production team left food containers, water bottles, plastic cups, cigarette packs, cigarette butts, leftover coffee, and wads of paper, on which there was information including the drama’s filming schedule and contact information of the producing directors.

In response to the report, High Zium Studio, the producing company of “Mr. Plankton,” released the following statement:

"Filming took place from morning to afternoon at Hwasun Golden Sand Beach on October 15. As filming was completed after sunset, cleaning was scheduled to take place over two days including the day of filming and the morning of the next day.

We confirmed that the production team paid extra attention and completed the cleaning this morning. We will be more careful during the filming process in the future."

Written by Jo Yong of “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” and directed by Hong Jong Chan who helmed “Juvenile Justice” and “Dear My Friends,” Netflix’s new series “Mr. Plankton” is a romantic comedy that depicts the story of people who can’t blend in or connect with anyone, just like plankton. The drama will follow the journey of a man named Hae Jo (Woo Do Hwan), who was born by mistake, as he is accompanied by a woman named Jae Mi (Lee Yoo Mi), who is the unhappiest woman in the world.
