More Celebrity Donations In Aid Of Gangwon Province Wildfire Victims Come To Light

More celebrity donations in aid of the Gangwon Province wildfire victims continue to come to light.

The wildfire broke out on the evening of April 4 near Ilsung Resort in Goseong County and soon spread to downtown Sokcho. The following day, a state of disaster was declared for Goseong County, Inje County, and the cities of Sokcho, Gangneung, and Donghae in Gangwon Province. The fire caused extensive property damage, power outages, evacuation of thousands of residents, 11 reported injuries, and one casualty.
Through the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association, actor Lee Jung Jae, singer Hong Jin Young, and retired figure skater Kim Yuna each donated 50 million won (about $43,900). Chungha and Soyou both donated 10 million won (about $8700) to the same organization, along with Kang Ho Dong (50 million won), Lee Young Ja (20 million won or about $17,500), Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun (10 million won), BTOB’s Eunkwang (20 million won), SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan (10 million won), and JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong (10 million won).
Girls’ Generation’s Yuri donated 20 million won to the Community Chest of Korea. Actor So Ji Sub donated 50 million won to the non-profit organization Good Neighbors.
Other celebrities revealed to have donated include 2PM’s Junho, Kang Daniel, who donated 30 million won in addition to his fans having donated in his name, celebrity chef Lee Yeon Bok, actor Lee Je Hoon, actress Han Hyo Joo, actress Kang So Ra, and Shinhwa’s Kim Dong Wan.
