Migyo Speaks Up About Conflict With Company + Clarifies Misunderstandings Surrounding Music Distributor

Migyo has personally explained the situation surrounding her recent conflict with JG Star Entertainment.
In November of 2018, Migyo sent a certification of contents for the termination of her exclusive contract with JG Star Entertainment, and in response, the company lodged a damage suit against her in February. In addition, Migyo appeared on the April 6 broadcast of KBS’s “Immortal Songs” without consulting her agency, and announced that she will be releasing new music distributed under YG Plus on April 9.
When news of her dispute with JG Star broke, Migyo posted a lengthy message on her Instagram account on April 8 to explain the situation.

Hello, this is singer Migyo.
In January of 2018, I signed an exclusive contract with JG Star, and after promoting for a while, I sent a notice for the termination of my exclusive contract through a certification of contents on November 11, 2018, due to the company’s unfair treatment and monetary settlement issues. On December 3, 2018, JG Star sent a certification of contents which stated that my contract would be terminated for breach of contract on my part.
Both JG Star and I have confirmed our intentions to terminate the contract, and despite JGSTAR’s claims, the contract is the not valid due to the contract termination.
As a result, although there are no restrictions in regards to my contract, and there are no problems with my singing career, JG Star is taking issue with my singing career through the media. I’d like to express my regret because my image seems to be tarnished by incomprehensible and inaccurate information.
I would also like to make it clear that I am not in partnership with any company, and the place mentioned in news reports [YG Plus] is just in charge of distributing my music.
Both the company and I have no doubt that the contract has already been terminated, and our problems (such as compensation for damages) from within the contract period are currently in the process of a lawsuit, so I think the court’s ruling should determine the truth.
But it’s heartbreaking and terrible to do this at a place where we were a family together. Even if the agency and I do not have a beautiful ending, I hope we do not progress into bad situations any longer. Thank you.

안녕하세요. 가수 미교입니다. 저는 지난 2018년1월 제이지스타와 전속계약을 맺고 활동해오다 회사의 부당한 대우와 정산 문제를 이유로 2018.11.20 내용증명을 통해 전속계약 해지 통보를 발송하였고, 제이지스타는 2018.12.3. 저의 전속계약위반을 이유로 내용증명을 통해 전속계약 해지한다는 내용의 내용증명을 발송하였습니다. 제이지스타나 저는 모두 계약해지 의사를 확인한바 있고 제이지스타의 주장에 의하더라도 계약해지로 계약의 효력은 없는 상태입니다. 이로써 계약과 관련해 제약이 없고 저의 가수 활동에는 문제가 없는 상황에서 제이지스타가 언론을 통해 가수활동을 문제를 삼는 것은 이해할 수 없고 부정확한 내용으로 제 이미지가 실추되는 것 같아 유감을 표현하고 싶습니다. 또한 저는 그 어느 회사와도 손을 잡고 있지 않은 상태임을 확실히 말씀드리며, 기사에서 언급하신 곳은 제 음원 유통만 담당하는 곳입니다. 회사와 본인 모두 계약은 이미 종료된 상태라는 점에 대하여는 이견이 없는 상태이고 계약 기간 내 서로 간의 문제(손해배상 등)는 현재 소송 진행 중으로 법원의 판결로 진실을 가리면 될 문제인 것 같습니다. 그래도 함께 같이 식구로 있었던 곳에서 이렇게 하시니 마음이 아프고 참담하네요... 화사와 저 아름다운 결말은 아니더라도 더는 나쁜 상황으로 안 갔으면 하는게 바람입니다. 감사합니다. -미교-
