Live Your Own Life episode 5 opens with Hyo-sim training Tae-ho. Tae-min then appears and takes a passive-aggressive approach towards Tae-ho. Following that, Hyo-sim keeps training Tae-ho while Tae-min goes about his own fitness routine.

Hyo-sim and Tae-ho are soon seen having an altercation. In light of his request that she refrain from training him, she informs him that, starting next month, she will have someone else help him with his training. Tae-min overhears them and grows even more furious with Tae-ho as a consequence.

In the lift with Tae-ho, Tae-min lavishes praise on Hyo-sim, essentially calling her the best fitness trainer in the country. Later that day, we see that Tae-min calls Hyo-min and asks her out for dinner. When he unexpectedly invites her, she gladly accepts.

The plot then switches to Ggeut-soon discovering Myung-hee at Uicheon Villa. When she hears that Hyo-do hurt the elderly lady and didn’t take her to the hospital, she contacts him and confronts him about it. Ggeut-soon, Woo-joo, Sun-soon, and Hyo-do then rush Myung-hee to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Hyo-sung and Hee-joo get into another disagreement about money. Hee-joo takes the money Sun-soon gave Hyo-sung. She then arranges to see Hyo-sim, requesting that she ensure Sun-soon stops pressing Hyo-sung for money.

Myung-hee’s accident is caught on camera, and Sook-hyang is informed about it. However, she and her people can’t seem to track down Myung-hee.

Following this, Hyo-sim receives a phone call informing her that her brother Hyo-do has accidentally run over a woman. She immediately heads to the hospital. When she finally reaches the hospital, she offers to take Myung-hee home and care for her.

Hyo-sim gets preoccupied and forgets about her dinner date with Tae-min. Tae-min is seated at a table by himself in the restaurant, waiting for Hyo-sim, who does not show up. Consequently, Tae-min seems extremely upset.

Hyo-sim confronts Hyo-do about his recent actions, including taking out a loan and driving his car into a pedestrian. When she gets through to him, he agrees to sell his car and get a job.

Meanwhile, we see that Sook-hyang is upset that her CEO husband Jin-bum likes to boot polish and she blames this on his father.

The episode concludes with Hyo-sim tending to Myung-hee, who seems taken aback by her kindness.

The Episode Review

Tae-min displays passive-aggressive behaviour towards Tae-ho in this episode. As Hyo-sim tends to Myung-hee, she forgets about the dinner date she had planned with Tae-min.

The episode veers dangerously close to overdramatic territory. The episode moves the plot along significantly, as we see Tae-min pursuing Hyo-sim. Additionally, we see that Myung-hee is taking a liking towards Hyo-sim.

It’s strange that every character in the tale seems to be related solely to people in one of the two families. This appears too dependent on coincidence to be credible.

Having said that, the show is becoming increasingly intriguing and entertaining. More than anything else, this show might be considered a guilty pleasure.
