Lee Jung Jae, Lee Jung Eun, and Im Siwan have been invited to the 7th London East Asia Film Festival (LEAFF) as award recipients!
The 7th LEAFF announced the winners of each category ahead of its opening ceremony. Actor Lee Jung Jae was selected as the winner of the LEAFF Honorary Award unanimously by the jury.
This is the result of Lee Jung Jae’s recognition as the first Asian actor to win Best Actor at the Emmy Awards as well as his outstanding skills as a director and lead actor of “Hunt,” which will be released for the first time in the United Kingdom as the opening film of this year’s film festival.
The winner of LEAFF Best Actor goes to Lee Jung Eun. It is an award given to an actor with excellent acting skills regardless of gender. The jury selected Lee Jung Eun because of her in-depth acting skills she showed in “Hommage,” this year’s invited film.
In addition, LEAFF Rising Star was awarded to Im Siwan of “Emergency Declaration.” Starting from this year, this award will be renamed as the Buldak Rising Star Award in cooperation with Samyang Food’s hit product Buldak Bokkeum Myeon (Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen) to support Korean films and filmmakers reaching out to Europe. Im Siwan, who is sweeping various film awards with “Emergency Declaration,” is expected to expand his range of activities with the London Asian Film Festival.
Lee Jung Jae, Lee Jung Eun, and Im Siwan will attend the opening ceremony held on October 19 at 7:30 p.m. (local time) at the Odeon Theater in Leicester Square in London.
Congratulations to the winners!
