tvN’s upcoming Saturday-Sunday drama “Alchemy of Souls” has unveiled a poster of Lee Jae Wook and Jung So Min!
Helmed by “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” director Park Joon Hwa, “Alchemy of Souls” is a fantasy romance drama set in the fictional nation of Daeho, a country that does not exist in history or on maps. The drama will tell the story of characters whose fates become twisted due to magic that swaps people’s souls. It will be penned by the famous screenwriting duo known as the Hong Sisters (Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran), whose previous works include the hit dramas “You’re Beautiful,” “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho,” “The Greatest Love,” “Master’s Sun,” “Hotel Del Luna,” and more.
Lee Jae Wook will play the role of sophisticated yet troublemaking young master Jang Wook of the Jang family. Jang Wook has a tragic backstory, with the entire nation of Daeho whispering about the shocking secret behind his scandalous birth. Despite seeming cool and indifferent on the outside, he is burning with fiery mischievousness on the inside.
Jung So Min will star as Mu Deok Yi, who secretly harbors the soul of the great assassin Nak Soo. However, this fierce soul is stuck in an impossibly weak body that cannot keep up with Nak Soo’s powerful spirit. After becoming the attendant and secret teacher of the young master Jang Wook, she begins training him in a brutal, merciless manner.
The newly released poster depicts a completely different atmosphere between Jang Wook and Mu Deok Yi. In the teaser that was shared last month, the two were spotted on quarrelsome terms with Jang Wook doing everything he could to annoy Mu Deok Yi. However, Jang Wook has turned into a protective guardian for Mu Deok Yi as he stands guard behind her and draws out his sword with a gaze that is as sharp as the blade. Mu Deok Yi is also glowing with intelligence and charisma, but one of her eyes is covered by Jang Wook’s sword. He is purposely shielding it to make sure no one else notices the odd blue color of it, which is linked to a mystery involving souls.
The text on the poster reads, “Stay right next to me. So that no one can come at us!” It will be exciting to see the changes in their relationship and how they become indispensable to each other.
The drama’s production team remarked, “This duo poster of Lee Jae Wook and Jung So Min shows how the relationship between a noble young master and the weakest servant will turn into one between a troublesome student and a secret teacher. Please watch how things will drastically change for them as the soul of a great assassin takes over the body of the weakest servant Mu Deok Yi.”
“Alchemy of Souls” will premiere on June 18 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
