MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama “Bitter Sweet Hell” has released new stills!

“Bitter Sweet Hell” is a black comedy starring Kim Hee Sun as Noh Young Won, the top family psychiatrist in all of Korea. When an anonymous blackmailer puts her career and family at risk, Noh Young Won teams up with her mother-in-law Hong Sa Gang (Lee Hye Young), a mystery novelist, to protect their family.

In the newly released stills, Noh Young Won sits with her mother-in-law, Hong Sa Gang, for a conversation. As they face each other, Noh Young Won appears visibly shaken and emotional, while Hong Sa Gang remains cold and unreadable. The prolonged silence and intense eye contact between them heighten the sense of unease, leaving viewers wondering what conflict has arisen between them.

Before filming, Kim Hee Sun and Lee Hye Young worked closely to perfect every detail. They discussed their characters’ changing emotions in depth to ensure a realistic portrayal. Once filming began, their chemistry was palpable, delivering a scene filled with subtle tension.

Kim Hee Sun expressed her admiration for Lee Hye Young, stating, “Lee Hye Young is very meticulous and thorough, and I learned a lot from her on set. I think our back-and-forth exchanges will be very entertaining.”
