It’s official: Kang Mina will be appearing in JTBC’s upcoming drama “Welcome to Samdalri!”
On November 10, Story J Company officially announced, “Kang Mina has been cast in JTBC’s new Saturday-Sunday drama ‘Welcome to Samdalri’ in the role of Jo Hae Dal.”
Helmed by “When the Camellia Blooms” director Cha Young Hoon, “Welcome to Samdalri” is a new romance drama starring Ji Chang Wook as Jo Yong Pil, a man who has faithfully stayed in his hometown on Jeju Island all his life in order to protect its residents. Shin Hye Sun will star as Jo Sam Dal, who grew up together with Jo Yong Pil as his close childhood friend. Unlike Jo Yong Pil, who was content to remain in his hometown of Samdalri, Jo Sam Dal made it her mission to get out of their small town and move to Seoul.
Kang Mina will be playing Jo Sam Dal’s younger sister Jo Hae Dal, who moved to Seoul at the age of 20 and got married after falling in love at a young age. However, even before her daughter was born, her husband tragically passed away in a car accident, leaving her to raise their child alone. Although she is the youngest of three sisters, Jo Hae Dal is a mature and responsible character who devoted the entirety of her twenties to raising her daughter as a single mom.
“Welcome to Samdalri” will premiere on December 2 at 10:30 p.m. KST.
