tvN’s “Love Next Door” has shared a sneak peek of the tension between Jung Hae In and Jung So Min from its next episode!
“Love Next Door” is a romantic comedy by the director and writer of the hit drama “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.” Jung So Min stars as Bae Seok Ryu, a woman who tries to reboot her troubled life after it goes awry. Jung Hae In plays her mom’s friend’s son Choi Seung Hyo, whom she considers a dark and embarrassing chapter in her life.
On the previous episode of “Love Next Door,” Choi Seung Hyo and Bae Seok Ryu playfully decided on the “expiration date” by which she would have to respond to his confession of his feelings. However, the episode ended on a dark note when it came to light that Bae Seok Ryu had undergone treatment for stomach cancer in the United States three years ago.
In newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming episode, Choi Seung Hyo and Bae Seok Ryu return to the playground where they often comforted one another and made many precious memories as children. However, in stark contrast to the past, there is an uncomfortable tension between the longtime friends as they awkwardly avoid each other’s gaze.
Another set of stills captures the pair at the same place on a different night, wearing sorrowful expressions that make it clear something has happened between them. In one photo, the two friends sit silently on the swings together, the air heavy with the weight of words unspoken.
The “Love Next Door” production team commented, “In Episodes 9 and 10, which air this week, all of Bae Seok Ryu’s secrets that have been shrouded in mystery thus far will be unveiled. What sorts of things she experienced in the United States, where she had no friends or family, and the incidents that led to her calling off her engagement and quitting her job will all be revealed.”
They went on to tease, “Please stay tuned to find out how Choi Seung Hyo finds out about Bae Seok Ryu’s secret—and what sort of influence it will have on their relationship.”
The next episode of “Love Next Door” will air on September 14 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
