tvN’s “The Uncanny Counter 2” has shared a new glimpse of Jin Sun Kyu in character!

Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, “The Uncanny Counter” is a superhero drama starring Jo Byeong Gyu, Kim Sejeong, Yoo Joon Sang, and Yeom Hye Ran as demon hunters with supernatural powers. Two and a half years after the first season’s successful run, the drama is returning with its long-awaited second season, which will feature new members with new powers joining the Counters in a thrilling adventure fighting demons.

With the premiere coming up in just a month, “The Uncanny Counter 2” has released its first stills of Jin Sun Kyu, who will be playing the role of Ma Joo Seok. Ma Joo Seok is a firefighter whose heart responds first when he hears the sound of the fire alarm. A hero among everyday people, he has changed the lives of many with his strong leadership and bold, bulldozer-like willingness to take on danger.

In the new stills, Ma Joo Seok radiates a kind, warm aura, smiling brightly at a co-worker even when his face is covered in ashes from working through a fire. In another photo, he carries So Moon (Jo Byeong Gyu)’s grandmother Jang Choon Ok (Lee Joo Shil) on his back with a huge smile after saving her life. He is someone that takes care of those around him as if they were family.

However, in the previously released teaser and poster for the drama, Ma Joo Seok was depicted with an intense aura that could be interpreted as either good or evil. Notably, Ma Joo Seok was featured in the demons’ poster instead of the Counters’ poster, heightening curiosity about his mysterious background story and the surprises he will bring to the plot.

The production team commented, “Jin Sun Kyu always radiates charm through all of his characters, which he pulls off in his own unique way. He’s a meant-to-be actor that makes every role his best. We were so touched to see how he endlessly analyzed and studied his character. Please look forward to his chameleon-like performance that will have you crying and laughing with his every glance and line.”

“The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch” will premiere on July 29 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
